Answer: General Yeager never owned any airplanes but we had and ow I have access to a two seater taildragger propeller plane. He quit flying P-51s in around 2007 because he saw a lot of bad maintenance, P-51s were 65 year old planes & he didn't want to jump out of another plane at age 84. He quit flying F-15s after 2012 because at age 90, he didn't want to punch out of a another jet. He really enjoyed flying a prop plane. Then he just let me fly. I knew if I got in trouble or the plane had an issue, he could get us down safely.
