  • This one caught me by surprise but I throughly enjoyed it, in fact I listened to 3 times back to back the first time.
Got me to thinking about some of the great “covers” over the years, there are many.

Give this a listen, post your opinion, and if you know of an outstanding “cover” post a link if possible..

Edit: Does anyone know why this video posted the way it did (link only w/adds)?
I posted it the same way I alway have. Maybe it’s a YouTube thing/glitch?

  • IMO, every single one of these is better than its original:

  • I didn’t hear this one until a couple years ago, iirc it was when Todd (Aros) posted it here @.net.
IMHO this is an absolutely amazing version of the song, seeing the guys from LZ reactions, and knowing that they have said they typically don’t like to hear that song being covered makes it all that much better for me.

Led Zeppelin actually only blessed a few bands doing their songs, Heart was one, they have been covering Zeppelin since almost the beginning.

Fitting Heart was able to do that tribute to them along with Gonzo's son on Drums.

She is one of a very few that can cover Plant's range, nuance and artistry (same for Heart as a band and Led Zeppelin.)

  • " (If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right " is a song written by Stax Records songwriters Homer Banks, Carl Hampton, and Raymond Jackson.

You Keep Me Hangin' On" was originally recorded in 1966 by the Supremes

    Absolutely! Great call. :2thumbs: :irishdrinkers:

Metallica’s version of “Whiskey in the Jar” and
Foo Fighters version of Baker Street.

Foo Fighters do a lot of great covers though.

  • I was going to submit Cash' Hurt. Great call. Yeah the Heart cover is once in a lifetime epic. And Roland, you are a man after my heart posting Buckley. Grace just quite possibly is my "You Can Only Take 1 Album With You On A Desert Island".

Haha, I feel you, though that definitely wouldn't be mind. Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell would be mine if I had to have one album to listen to for the rest of my days. My 2nd choice behind that would be The Scorpions - Best of Rockers n' Ballads, if compilation albums are allowed to count.

Yes he is very good, and I traveled down that same rabbit hole when I discovered him.

His “never heard it like this” playlist is amazing if one enjoys that style.
