It's a simple formula but not easy to execute:
1. Mitigate their run game early.
2. Gain an early lead.
3. Force Dak to pass his way back into the game.
I think this game hinges heavily on whether Wagner/KJ can play.
I was all about us bringing in Davis as a QB2 last year because he played pretty good with the Rams for a stretch there in 2014. I thought he would be a Fitzpatrick/Josh McCown level back-up/pinch starter (QB1.5). Now, I'm starting to see he's more of a Mark Sanchez/Matt Cassel kinda guy...
Anyone that answers "yes", should be perma-banned. I'm all about free speech except when it comes to the words "Cable" or "Bevell". Those words bring about a curse. Curse-words..
Mark is proving to be even more eccentric than his pops. I remember some interview (written) where he was asked about his haircut. He responded that he knew people made fun of it but he didn't care because he liked it. I thought he was going to get offended by the question or truly act...
The Franchise tag is used to hold onto your best player in hopes of working out a long term deal. If JS doesn't want to give Earl an extension, why would he want to tag him next year which would give him a fully guaranteed ~$12M dollars. I understand the "make an example of him, bro!", but...
A guaranteed 3rd rd pick in 2019 draft (anywhere from #65-#96)
or
A, best case, 3rd comp pick in the 2020 draft at the tail end of the round (#97-#100).
Two things to point out:
- If he poo-poos his image/value any more this year, there's no guarantee that he'll get a contract worth a 3rd...
It was too early for an RB and if we were going to take one, I'd rather have had Guise (or my favorite RB, RoJo) than Penny.
I was happy that JS traded back (per usual) but was expecting OL like a James Daniels/Will Hernandez. The gap between the tiers of O-linemen is much wider than the tiers...
Austin Davis is a really decent back-up QB. I'm surprised he wasn't signed by another team, especially since he's only making vet minimum.
But ultimately, thank god we didn't sign Geno a few weeks back. That guy is horribad!
