With the offensive line woes at the start of the season I thought we'd be 8-8 at best. The early season play calling was painful as well, which didn't help matters much. They did a complete 180 and it's worked. I'm glad things turned out the way they did.
The only thing that bugs me now is...
The drop kicks are weird, but if they are going to do them at least try to spin it mid field at the 10 yard line. He has the accuracy to do this a good percentage of the time. But the pooch kick offs are a bust, let SeaBass do them if you aren't drop kicking further downfield.
Also, can't you...
This. I really thought we were going to get blown out by the Rams. I almost didn't watch the game but thought to myself "that's giving up". Russ was decisive for the majority of the game when passing. Both Carson and Davis were getting some hard yardage out there that set up the PA stuff rather...
It could have gone either way, but saving the timeout was a better decision than wasting it right there. Even if it was a fake punt I'm hoping they would have factored that into their decision. If they didn't then Pete has no reason to keep coaching as the game has moved on without him.
It's actually genius on his part. Keep getting "injured" until you are a vet. Last year of deal go balls out and get good if not great contact. If no deal still get pension IIRC, kick back and live frugally.
Of course, that plan could never backfire if true.
No matter what Pete preaches about competition this is clearly not true. You don't draft a RB in the first round and not give him touches, which is standard M.O. across the league.
If you didn't believe it when we drafted Penny, you should now. The writing was on the wall for this to happen.
Not when you say "nobody". That means I only have to name one to disprove you. Now, if you had said it's rare for people to age well in the NFL then that would have made your point.
