Pretty awesome when 2011 and 2017 are the low points of your team. Each of those years had major playoff potential. And exciting games in December. Everybody dumps on Tavaris Jackson and Maude so but we were a strip sack at the end of the 49 era game and an OT loss at Az from being 9-7 and playoff bound that year. 2017 was an injury riddled affair that was a good kicker from being 12-4 or at least 11-5. But thank God for Blair Walsh! MVP! I guess we should’ve got him earlier. What a great year. We played about the toughest schedule and went toe to toe with the best. Seven playoff teams. We destroyed one pro bowl QB and Two playoff bound teams and had two classic prime time games and we still have the playoffs to come. Plus there is still a minute chance of the NFCCG in Seattle! Go Hawks!

Where oh where are the Negative Nellys and Debbie Downers now?

That's my favorite part of this season.

(((Boom)))

7th year in the playoffs since 2010. 2nd most playoffs wins since 2010. Seahawks have won at least one playoff game every year they have made it. 9-5 playoff record.

If the Seahawks beat Arizona on Sunday, and if Green Bay and Pittsburg lose, they will be tied for the 2nd most overall wins since 2010. Seahawks already have the 2nd most wins since 2011.

Compare that to the Rams, who have not won a playoff game since January 8, 2005. Even worse, that was the Rams only playoff win since the 2001 season. One (fluke) playoff win in the last 17 years.

Take away the 2 years with Mora in Seattle, and it's been a great run all the way back to 2002.

This seems like a good thread to point out a trend nobody in the media keeps track of. The Seahawks are riding an NFL-record longest streak of winning at least one playoff game per playoff appearance. In other words, they never go one-and-done. We've won a playoff game in 9 consecutive appearances (ignoring seasons in which we missed the playoffs). The next best all-time is the Raiders with 8 from 1973-1983. The next closest active streak is the Patriots at 7 (last one-and-done was 2010).

2005 - Beat Washington and Carolina
2006 - Beat Dallas
2007 - Beat Washington
2010 - Beat New Orleans
2012 - Beat Washington
2013 - Beat New Orleans and San Francisco
2014 - Beat Carolina and Green Bay
2015 - Beat Minnesota
2016 - Beat Detroit

Mora was only 1 year, 2009. The other terrible year in that stretch was 2008, Holmgren's last season.
Your point is still extremely valid though, it has been a fantastic stretch. Only the Patriots have been better.

Holmgren showing up really turned this franchise around. It took awhile for that to pan out, especially when dude was trying to be GM as well. Then the Carroll era started and everything exploded. Before Holmgren I never expected anything good. It was always mediocre to bad.

If your basis is to name all of the teams who have had it better and all you get is Patriots, you're a very lucky fan. Very, very lucky. I know a lot of people were pissed about last year, but if that's a "bad" Carroll team, we're super lucky.

Absolutely, and people always like to leave out the fact that with an average kicker instead of Blair Walsh, we most likely win 11 games and make the playoffs. The "Is Pete Carroll on the hot seat?" conversations that were happening were hilariously stupid in my opinion.

I was also counting 2008, when he was on staff ruining the chemistry Holmgrens guys had.

Missed this earlier.

I've seen more than a couple posters refer to what the Seahawks do when they're not going to Super Bowls as going "one and done again". But because things were so good, the definition apparently shifted to "playing one game, then being done" to "winning one game, then losing the next one". People seem less grumpy this year (well, many of them have more or less disappeared) but I haven't seen too many mentions of the Seahawks "one and done".
