THE BLITZ WITH LYDIA CRUZ - December 9, 2019

The Seahawks lost to the Rams 28-12 on Sunday Night Football, ending their perfect road record in 2019 and slipping them into second place in the NFC West after the Niners beat the Saints 48-46 in NOLA.

Pete Carroll said this one was tough, but doesn't deter this team's spirit. What stalled the offense? Why did the Hawks fall in a hole early?

Rashaad Penny was injured on the first drive of the game, and Carroll updates us on his ACL injury.

In the Hot List... the College Football Playoff is set, the Huskies and Cougars bowl schedule is announced and the Patriots lost their second game in a row.

DANNY AND GALLANT - December 9, 2019 - Hour 1

The Seahawks lost yesterday, but the sky isn't falling. Some flaws were exposed, but they're ones Seattle can work on. What to Watch For: 49ers beat the Saints, take first place in the NFC, UW in the Vegas Bowl, WSU in the Cheezit Bowl, CFP: LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma. Then, John Clayton's Coors Light Cold Hard Facts! We take you through the most impactful plays of last night's game. How did the Rams have the Seahawks number? We listen to the plays that tell us.

DANNY AND GALLANT - December 9, 2019 - Hour 2

Blue 42 with Brock Huard! Was this Seahawks loss a one game dud? Is it fitting that the last game of the Petersen era for UW is against Boise State? Why has the Seahawks passing game seemingly taken a step back? Shaquill Griffin says the Seahawks came in on their high horse, acting like they already won against the Rams. This is a good thing for the Seahawks, as they're more than likely to respond in a big way. The Rams figured out the Seahawks, but does that mean they should change what they do? The Seahawks stick to their philosophy. Would the Seahawks be better served by adjusting or doing what they do?

DANNY AND GALLANT - December 9, 2019 - Hour 3

Was this loss a one-game stinker? In Around the NFL... Niners beat the Saints, take first place in the NFC, Carolina gets thumped by the Falcons, and the Packers beat Washington to remain atop the NFC North. Finally, it's The Pete Carroll Show!

Enjoyed the Pete Carroll Show podcast segment.

The Rams offense did an excellent job of exerting control by varying their cadence in speeding things up and then slowing things down and then speeding things up. I thought it went a long way toward keeping the Seahawks defense off balance. The defense had problems getting into their alignments and it slowed the defense down. A lot of defenders found themselves out of alignment and a step or two behind for much of the game.

On offense, they still don't have an answer for Aaron Donald. All the double teaming and triple teaming frees team mates up to make plays and yet Donald still gets in his fair share. Their edge personnel did a good job of keeping Russell Wilson contained for most of the game. Other teams may not have a Aaron Donald. But the film on edge containment of Wilson is worth a look.

I appreciated what I saw from the Rams last night ...... nice game.

Oh yea' ......... thanks for linking the podcasts :2thumbs:

Thanks.

And I agree, the show struggles with Danny and Gallant. It seems like Danny spends all of his time talking down to Paul, letting him know "I've been here a long time and you haven't." For example, Danny said "You haven't met Brock's dad (I have) but he's a very strict coach (plays excerpt from Brock's dad). Just mho, but Danny seems to tie a lot of his self-worth to the fact that he knows Brock Huard, while Brock tries to play his celebrity down.

People in great situations always seem to lack the vision to realize how good they've got it, and can only concentrate on what someone else has that they don't. I know it's been the bane of my life. "You don't know what you've got till it's got, paved Paradise, put up a Parking Lot!"

But Bumpus and Gallant do very well together. There's no airs, just talking about the topics. Danny O'Neill has a great gig going, hope he let's go of all the extraneous shit and just appreciates he's got a show, and a good radio co-host.

Anyway, enough from me, brb with mor elinks :2thumbs:

Groz’s Just A Minute: Seahawks have missed having a healthy Tyler Lockett

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson hasn’t passed for over 300 yards in a game since Nov. 3. That just so happens to be the last time his No. 1 wide receiver, Tyler Lockett, was completely healthy.

Now, we’re fudging the numbers a little bit. Lockett was healthy for almost all of Seattle’s 27-24 overtime win over the 49ers on Nov. 11, as he didn’t suffer a shin bruise that put him in the hospital for two nights until late in regulation. But the point stands that Lockett hasn’t been the same player over the past four games that he was earlier in the season.
