It was the right call, and if anything the Hawks should have been penalized for hitting a guy who called for fair catch. If the call had stood and the Hawks had won, I'm sure that's all we'd be hearing in the media anyway. How the "Seahawks win again on another botched call".

The "Hawks should have been flagged for unnecessary roughness" call was proven incorrect as well. The rule states that the receiver calling fair catch must give sufficient time for players to react and stop natural progression towards the receiver. There is not enough time on an onside kick for that to occur, so there cannot be unnecessary roughness on a fair catch call on an onside kick.
