Indeed, McDougald doesn't have the FS speed and change of direction for Carroll's current scheme. And, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking for more of a Earl Thomas FS clone for their defense.

Good luck for TB finding that. We lucked out with 2 first rounders that year and got Earl. Who is an incredible once in a lifetime talent.

Mc D is a good depth signing. I love it actually.

I knew nothing of McDougald but he looks pretty solid. Wonder if its a move for the future too if Kam is gone after next year or if its strictly a depth move.

That's an open question.

I think Chancellor's future is unknown. Although he is a priority for an early extension, his demands may force a year delay to test his value on the open market. His previous, under contract hold out, suggests that he may want to have an opportunity to test his market value as a free agent.

Kelcie McCray's starting experience is limited and he has no career interceptions to his credit. After two years they collected plenty of information. McDougald has more starting experience and more playmaking history (including interceptions) than his predecessor. I think McDougald upgrades the competition.

I'm thinking a depth move. Willing to bet they extend Kam before the season is over.

That 4.74 40 is alarming but he did produce a 4.51 at his Pro-Day.

I like his WR background, and if it's likely he seemingly lacks top end speed that he makes up for it with solid instincts and mental aptitude.

McDougald actually reminds me of Shead. I'm willing to bet the Seahawks will try him out at CB at some point to see what he has there.

I'm kind of liking the DBs, Seahawks have secured. If Clayton actually had sources or was just speculating, he said Cox might be tried at Safety.

Pierre Desir is listed at FS on .com but surely will compete at CB.

LBer Dewey McDonald is listed at LBer but plays more like a big safety.

A guy like Demetrius McCray, who many liked as a diamond in the rough in his draft, if he sticks, he'll likely be tried out at CB but it wouldn't surprise me if the Seahawks try him out at Safety as well to see if that suits him better.

Then there is McDougald who looks like a SS, started at FS in this league, put together 2 seasons with 31 starts but comes in as a guy who profiles well with what the Seahawks have had at the RCB over the years. Long and Strong.

McDougald, Thomas, Chancellor, Sherman... I wouldn't hate it if McD proved he can play CB, and stand out above the competitors.

All together it gives the Seahawks options, especially if the draft doesn't fall the way, they'd like. Or perhaps they trade out and select Sidney Jones as like a red-shirt.

Yeah, I agree. A bunch of people talk about getting rid of kam. The problem, do you remember how affected this whole team is when he misses time? Ridiculous talk. He WILL be extended, unless he chooses to leave that is.

A huge addition to the defense would be a match up specialist with the physicality, foot speed, and play making ability of a big receiver. Someone who could specifically take away an opponent's receiving tight end.

Such a development would be huge.

Watching that block Alexander throws on Sowell on the run back is really exciting if you're a TB fan. Sucks for us. Sowell got blown up by some dude he had nearly a hundred pounds on. Come on, man.
