In John Schneider's combine press conference he gushed about Dakoda Shepley -- who was a waiver pick up last year -- that we've not really seen play.

With Pocic a FA and Fuller a meh, Shepley may be a surprise option at C coming into camp. Revisiting his intro conference from last year, it seems he is in the mold of the lighter, mobile OL that Waldron's system seems to favor.

Heaps makes a good point:

When (Carroll) was asked about (the offensive line), his response was, ‘We want to bring everybody back.’ OK, well, what does that mean?” Heaps said. “You want to sign up for Ethan Pocic and Kyle Fuller again (at center) and Brandon Shell (at right tackle)? And then John Schneider was asked about it and he brought up (2021 third-string center) Dakoda Shepley. ‘Oh, you you guys haven’t even seen Dakota Shepley yet.’ I’m sure there was probably a reason for that, was there not? If there wasn’t then how come we didn’t see him out there last year? There were plenty of opportunities. Nobody ran away with the with the starting (center) job last year.

They need to have a KC Chiefs type rebuild on the OL, but we all know that'll never happen with PC/JS. Rather spend the money and picks on blitz boy, an over the hill Wagner, and free agent bums.

So they're "fired up" about him, and want to bring Pocic back. It's identical to last season, having an injury prone, inconsistent, average Center competing with another unproven guy in his late 20's.

You're getting there. It's almost like the center isn't the most important player on offense in this scheme or something.

Very likable guy, but Dakoda isn't ugly enough to be a good center, amiright?

Hmm.

Maybe if he starts balding faster.
