Does field turf make a difference for the Hawks?

I was thinking about our road losses this year. Also how close the Reskins game was to becoming a disaster. Before the game they said the poorness of the field would slow both teams down. So I check our losses to see what type's of field we were playing on.

So here are the fields on the road, take from it what you will. I thought it was interesting, and I'm happy we are playing at the Georgia dome next (same turf as Qwest field).

Away Games - Turf Used.
Washington (W) - 419 Tifway Bermuda Grass (Bermuda grass on a winter field? huh? See Link below)
Miami (L) - 419 Tifway Bermuda Grass
Arizona (L) - 419 Tifway Bermuda Grass
Buffalo(Rogers Center)(W) - AstroTurf GameDay Grass 3D
St. Louis (L) - AstroTurf GameDay Grass 3D
San Fran (L) - Kentucky Bluegrass
Detroit(L) - FieldTurf
Chicago (W) - Grass (plain old)

Starting to get the feeling we do well on Artificial Turf.

The Georgia Dome has the same turf that Quest Field does (no I won't call Quest Field that).
Seattle () - FieldTurf
Atlanta () - FieldTurf

AstroTurf GameDay Grass 3D -

Grass (Plain old) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grass

I'm not an equipment manager, so I'm not going to make a summary here. But it does look like the team is more comfortable on artificial turf.

Our team is extremely fast, built around speed, and as you can tell with how we play at home, speed is a huge asset, so this should work out pretty well.

I was thinking the same thing. At minimum we won't be at a disadvantage.

We have more losses than wins on the road with artificial turf. Just saying

Actually 3 Grass, 2 A-Turf. But your point is still valid.

The issue on grass isn't so much about the decrease in speed(it goes both ways) but it gives the offense more time to react and exploit the gambles we take because of our speed. It's like watching a replay at .95 speed, it doesn't make that much of a difference, but could allow 1 more read for the QB on a certain play. That read could be a TD altering the game

Astroturf sucks and I'd rather play on real grass than that, except for the pasture that Washington offered last weekend.

Aside from the benefit to speed, which might favor us slightly, it helps both teams by reducing the likelihood of injury.

I hate astro turf, and we are fortunate that the clink uses field turf instead.
