Just because some fans assume they would have been knocked out, doesn't make it so. Still gotta' lace em up, anything can happen in the playoffs. This team has a ton of playoff experience and certainly could have won a wild card game.

Then I'm glad we didn't make the playoffs. Cause barely squeaking in and then MAYBE winning a WC game isn't good enough for me..........and it certainly wouldn't have led to Pete cleaning house and doing the right things to have a better chance at getting back to the SB.

I agree with you 100%. Any given Sunday aspect. My argument is the way the team was playing going into the playoffs.

The Seahawks lost at home on the final game of the year where the offense scored zero points in the first half. In a game where they could actually stumble into the playoffs. It was hard to watch.

The way the team was playing on all aspects, they would have been embarrassed by any opponent going forward.

I hate to say this, but I'm glad they lost that game. If it was in fact the trigger on the gun to make changes.

Yup.

You guys want to Suck for Luck Part Deux, feel free.

You guys want to repeatedly quote-post each other in order to reaffirm your uncertainties, feel free.

I root for wins.

Yes, I think so and I also think that is what irritates me the most about about not making the playoffs. Even w/all the injuries, if the Seahawks are on their game there isn't a single one of those teams we wouldn't have been able to beat.

Totally disagree. Watching the playoffs reinforced how weak the Seahawks were.

We beat the current NFC Super Bowl representative.

Whatever, you watched the season as I did. You come to your conclusion about it. I'll be good with mine.

We also lost the Skins and Cardinals at home with EVERYTHING to play for..............if you don't think that's the biggest red flag that something's wrong and changes need to be made, then I don't know what is.

No one here's rooting for losses, you're taking it too far.

We lost to a depleted Redskins team at home.

Our offense literally set new records for futility, to the point of being a laughingstock.

But this was the year we would have won?

This team would have struggled with the Browns. It had no shot at the SuperBowl and would have lost any playoff game by over 30 points, being essentially out of it by halftime.

It was a joke this year. We didn't have a shot to the point I did not even bother watching the 1st half of the 1st game of the season. Or the 1st half of most games this season.

Teams that only bother to play in the 4th quarter shouldn't expect much. Same for that team's fans.

Our offense was 11th for total points and 15th for total yards. So above average for points and average for yards. That hardly makes us a laughingstock or set records for futility. Especially considering we’re were #19 on what we spent on offense.

My OP had nothing to do w/whether changes needed to be made, that was beyond obvious. Nor did it say anything about "rooting for losses." It had to do w/the fact that this was probably the best year that a less-than-stellar team could get to the Super Bowl.

My post was in response to DomeHawk's statement:

The Seahawks CAN still beat any team. They're not, but they can. Not something I'd say for half of the league.

And yes, there are a couple people in here rooting for losses. Maybe you're not, but there are a few.

Regardless of what we think of the Hawks chances this year... the field was pretty solid. I remember the 2006 teams path (Redskins and Jake Delhomme’s Panthers) or a 7-9 Hawks team getting a home game.
Sure there are others.

Describes the AFC this year, not the NFC. Super weak, except for the Pats and the Jags defense. That's it.

Which is why I think people are going to be surprised by the Eagles in the SB.

We're talking about the Belichick/Brady era Patriots with 2 weeks to prepare against Nick Foles in the Super Bowl. I don't think the outcome is going to surprise anyone.

We'll see.

I think it's going to play out like the AFC Championship game, a lot closer than people think. Eagle's defense is for real.

Still think the Pats win, but I don't think it's going to be a blowout like most.

yeah im taking the Eagles..

I think this will look similar to the Broncos-Panthers Super Bowl a few years ago... and that's if Foles does "just enough." He's capable of more.
