If they're really going to let Russ ball and 'Air it Out' this year ... I'd rather have Lynch back there picking up the blitz than these other guys.

He turned the Seahawks down. Now focusing on Carlos Hyde. If that doesnt work Mo Morris will be back.

Lynch is still money inside the 5. IMO

Yeah. What if Beast Mode had a couple of months to get ready and its obvious he's not a
#1 back anymore but maybe he could he used
Situationally. And he's a special kind of leader.

No. Thank. You.

Falcons releasing Devonta Freeman with three years left on contract

. It leaves $6 million in dead money.

However, injuries started to mount for Freeman. He missed two games with a concussion in 2017 and battled a knee issue during the 2017 postseason. In 2018, Freeman played in just two games due to multiple injuries and eventually underwent season-ending core muscle surgery.

Freeman returned healthy in 2019 with big expectations but managed just 656 yards on 184 carries with two rushing touchdowns

Freeman caught 59 passes for 410 yards and four touchdowns. He missed two games with a foot sprain.

Hyde is not a bad move.
After watching him in college, I’m shocked he hasn’t been a better pro. The man just NEVER lost yards. I didn’t get why we didn’t hand him the ball every play.

Hyde hasn't done much in the NFL. Doesn't seem like a move that will move the needle much.

Hyde averaged 4.4 yards a carry last year, had over a thousand yards and runs hard. If they can get him on a low $ deal, hell yes.
Freeman averaged 3.6 yards.

I’m ok with this. I was hoping we would of drafted Taylor from Wisconsin for this reason.

With you on the last part pard. But I don't think Freeman offers the durability we need at RB. Who has been more durable with skills than Lynch? I like the prospect of the Beast playing on 3rd down with our bevy of receivers and TEs who can give Russ opportunity to play quick release for ball control or RPO for plays in space. They can't cover everyone AND worry about containing Russ.

I prefer this option to the Freeman option. I'm optimistic that Homer ane/or DJ will be a solid 3rd down back option. Both provide pass-catching and blitz pick-up out of the backfield. Hyde seems like a plus option to provide depth behind Carson.
