grounds for a lawsuit? (no pun intended)

Just curious if Clemons and others might have grounds for a lawsuit against Snyder and FedEx "cornfield".
His livelihood maybe in jeopardy because of the atrocious field conditions that he and others had to play under.
Or is it just part of the game like concussions?

no, im pretty sure every player signs a waiver that they can not sue the league if they were to get injured.

But I agree, action must be taken to Snyder and i hope if we do end up playing them again next season that they fix up that field.

I'm not a lawyer (not even on the internet), but signing a waiver doesn't mean there can't be reasons to sue. Sure they can't sue because of injuries that are caused by normal process of the game, but if they could prove that the field was in such disrepair due to negligence, then it would open up the Redskins organization (or whomever is in charge of the stadium maintenance) to a lawsuit.

If the field was cleared by the NFL as playable, doesn't it become the NFL's responsibility?

There is a former punter, can't remember what team or who it was, but his case goes to court pretty soon for this exact thing, he got hurt when his foot lodged between 2 pieces of sod and he's suing the stadium management or some such...sorry for the vagueness of this post, just saw a minor blurb earlier on it and can't remember where....

*edit* google is a wonderful tool

I think I heard maybe on NFLN that the field had to pass some league standard prior to the game to be deemed playable.... well that's gotta be the lowest standard required for any playing surface in any major sport known to mankind... a fricken cow would die of starvation if that was a pasture...

Well, Snyder and the 'Skins are paying for it through their franchise QB's knee...so, hopefully they got the message loud and clear that something needs to be done for that field.
