Defensive backs have been pretty good here too:

CB Dave Brown
SS Kam Chancellor
SS Kenny Easley
FS Eugene Robinson
CB Richard Sherman
CB Shawn Springs
FS Earl Thomas
CB Marcus Trufant

I think the list extends far beyond those guys even. Former LOB-ers like Browner and Maxwell. Guys like Hamlin and Boulware and Ken Lucas had short careers but were impact players for us. Jordan Babineaux was the Jermain Kearse of his day, making the most of every opportunity. Older players like Paul Moyer and Patrick Hunter.

Good list. I have to mention John Harris, one of my favorites. He was the safety opposite Easley.
Also, Newton Webster was a really good cornerback for just a short time in the early days.

Can anyone smell the "off-season acquisition" in the air?

With the news of Lynch's exit spreading around, seems to me the FO will be answering a number of calls from agents whose clients will have an interest in getting a look.

I predict a signing.

We have a pretty good to-do list of our own before we start answering the phone:

Okung, Irvin, Lane, Sweezy, Kearse, plus Bennett, who's almost certain to want to renegotiate his deal.

I'm not necessarily saying we resign all of those guys, but we have to factor into the equation either resigning or replacing them.
