If you’re Hackett, do you hold Russ out for the chargers?

I would.

Russ would lose the Chargers even before his injury. Rypien would too, but he would also get reps for if and when playing Through injury becomes impossible. Since the L is a foregone conclusion, just play the backup.

This latissimus injury they’re talking about took Dak a month to recover from. The treatment Russ is getting to accelerate that is not only unproven but almost entirely untested.

It’s the coach’s job to be the grownup here.

What a dilemma for him. Keep throwing and continue tearing the muscle. Shut it down for 3-4 weeks and risk Rypien making your season even more of a joke (the $245M QB vs. the $965K QB).
It's a risk hard for Russ to take, what if Rypien played better than him? At this point, it's not that hard to do, Russ's plays set the bar so low, most QB can do better. When Rypien do better than Russ, can you imagine the media jokes?

That's what I meant. Wilson's season being more of a joke, not the Broncos. It's pretty easy to see Rypien playing within the design of Hackett's offense and winning over the crowd. It'd make Wilson's return even more personally stressful.

Wilson's 'legacy' has taken a huge hit so far this season, and it will take a lot longer for that to heal than his shoulder will. If all this escalation rubbish he is relying on was worth what he thinks it is he wouldn't have been injured in the first place. If the Broncs are relying on Wilson to turn this into a big winning season they should just keep buying whatever he's selling and be giddy about it. They are like a vulture celebrating discovery of a skeleton.

What Wilson need now is couple of weeks in an inaccessible monastery somewhere high up on Himalaya, his body needed rest, but more importantly, he mind needed cleansing. Pete has been planting little green man in Russ' fragile psyche, Russ need to get out of it to perform.

If John63 is reading this post, please pass on to Russ. If Russ allow that little green man stay in his mind, he would be hopeless in a month.

It's a double edged sword, if you keep Russ out and Rypien does good then you have a problem, if you play him and he gets hurt worse than you have a bigger problem. Russ does not want anybody outshining him but if your arm is garbage and you are confident in yourself you can fix that.

RCW should sit and should want to sit. He's got his contract. The new owners anointed him and want him to succeed. His psyche is crumbling. Some time on the sideline watching football and diagnosing the game will help immensely. Look what 10 years of it did for Geno. There's no cost because the organization can't get rid of him. There's only benefit.

He was garbage from the beginning. Using this injury as an excuse for his performance. What about all the bad decisions? Those due to injury too? Lol

It's certainly convenient. As is the decision to go to Los Angeles for treatment. As is the decision to call the shot he got a "procedure."
Why go to L.A.?The tech is not new and plenty of needles
and doctors right there in Denver.
it has to be a team3 spin move,I'm not buying into it.
i hope he keeps playing like an old Peyton as it helps our
picks from them.
Where is that water he swore by and was selling???
