he’ll undoubtedly improve the special teams; he was the Seahawks’ leading tackler on kick coverage last season.

Probably another reason for signing Will Blackmon. Can play both CB and special teams for us.

Wish him well. Wish we didn't have to lose so many guys but those are the breaks...

We had a 2nd round tender on him no?

So won't we get Washington 2nd this year?(besides the comp picks next year)

Poor Jeron. Going from one of the best-run organizations to the worst. I wonder if he realizes exactly what he's getting into.

Despite his youth, Johnson is already the most experienced safety on the Redskins roster. Since the end of last season, Clark retired to become an NFL analyst with ESPN and Meriweather’s contract was allowed to expire. Of the other five safeties in Washington — a group that includes Da’Mon Cromartie-Smith, Akeem Davis, Duke Ihenacho, Trenton Robinson and Phillip Thomas — nobody have more than three years of experience in the NFL.

Anyone willing to suggest they'll draft a DB with their first pick?

I suggested in the draft forum this might be the case before FA even started.

Good for him, he's a solid backup and solid special teams guy. Maybe he will get a chance to start in the "other" Washington.

I know its super early but what are our comp picks looking like right now? Are they awarded for contracts this small?

So far we haven't signed a UFA

And have lost ...

Maxwell 10 mill
Carp 5 mill
Smith 3.5
Johnson 2 mill
Schofield 1.8 mill
Walters?????

Missing anyone??

During a normal off-season the Seahawks might be awarded 4 compensatory picks (that's the max for one team). However, there are a max of 32 picks awarded and with all the large contracts it doesn't appear that Johnson or Schofield will earn a pick. In fact, at 3.5 Malcolm Smith might even miss the cutoff.
