Stupid rule. Why not just do away with the play clock altogether and let the middle linebacker signal the ref when the D is good and ready. Might as well make it illegal to blitz while they are changing things so the QB has less of a chance at getting hurt.

The thing about the rule, is it would only give the d 10 seconds to get subs in. Most hurry up type O snap the ball at around 18.5-22 seconds. A fat ass DL is going to have to sprint in and get set in that quick of time. Ultimately the reason hurry ups work is two thing, fatigue and the d not getting into position. I could see a lot of D being out of position with this rule.
