I'm thinking that:

Jamal Adams will remain on the roster
Quandre Diggs may be on the trade block
Will Disley may be on the trade block, though there may not be much of a gain

Poona Ford may get tagged or released,
Rashaad Penny will be released
Geno Smith will be re-signed at a significant pay raise
Jonathan Abrams will be released
L.J. Collier will be released
Nick Bellore may be released
Drew Lock may be released

-Nobody's trading for Diggs. Him and Adams will be the starters next year. Hopefully having a game plan to use Neal allowing Adams to be a playmaker in the box.
-I would bring back Penny
-Poona is not receiving any kind of Tag
-Gabe Jackson is gone
-Shelby Harris might be gone too.

When Adams is gone this won't look as bad. I'd like to move on from Penny..just not trustworthy with the injuries. Dissly isn't going anywhere.

I think next season will be a make or break year for Adams. There does not look to be any gain in trading him prior to the 2023 season so I'm fairly confident he will still wear a Seahawk jersey next season. In 2024 his dead cap will be lower than his cap space and this looks even better in 2025. 2026 he is a FA. If he does not produce in 2023 I think he will be gone in 2024

Don't think any team would give up anything for Adams. Hes had multiple shoulder injuries and now a very serious knee injury. He relies on speed and hitting hard. I dont think he will be the same player moving fwd.

Post June 1 designated cuts would save a lot of money at Safety.

The Seahawks would free up $11M in cap space next year if they Post June 1 cut Jamal Adams.

$14M in cap savings if they Post June 1 cut Quandre Diggs.

That's $25M in total savings.

Who’s Burns? Did he ever suit up?
CB. He may have suited up for 1 game but no stats and has been out all season with a groin issue. Unless the team thinks he will get healthy and be an impact, I expect he will not be re-signed.

I watched a youtube video on Adams and his recovery...he may never play again. I just hope he can walk normal again.

Outside of the completion rate and TD/Int of Geno, all of those FA's can walk.

Walker, DK, Lockett, the 2022 rookies, Nwosu and Brooks are the only ones worth keeping. The rest are easily replaceable.

Great intel. Thank you. My fear with Adams is Pete. He gave up way too much for the guy then compounded that blunder with the huge contract. Pete doesn't look like the Denver FO in the Wilson trade until he releases Adams. With that, Adams is probably going to stay on the payroll for awhile. I just don't see Pete setting his ego aside and admitting he blew it.

What really irks me is this: As fans, we don't have the inside that our FO has. I kinda knew Adams was a egomaniac before we brought him on but that stuff is easy for us fans to dismiss as "competitive spirit". But the more we were exposed to Adams and his false bravado, the more I ask WTH was our FO thinking? I've not heard him called a locker room cancer but when a team mate, that's done so little, goes on national TV calling himself the best player in the league...I can't see that as a positive. Maybe our other players were mature enough to just laugh that off. Dunno. But I'm sure not laughing.

The thing about cutting people late is Pete is too nice a guy to do that. He wants the player to have every opportuinity to sign with another team.

Diggs will save us $9.8M cutting him immediately. We won't wait.

We may just come to an injury settlement with Adams.

As far as Pete being the ego about bringing him I suggest each of you watch the latest volume episode (I think, it might be all access) where Diggs was talking about being boys with Adams since 2014. Pretty sure he convinced the front office to pull the trigger on the trade.

I agree.

Carroll’s track record isn’t very telling he would be willing to trade Adams and Diggs.

Unless, Adams and Diggs become locker room cancers, Carroll is going to keep these guys no matter how much of the cap they take up.

And most importantly, what GM, in their right mind would trade for these guys? Not even Denver would go for it.

Diggs and Adams are by far the two worst contracts on the team.

Lets not add Brooks to this mix as well.

If anything, the most valuable trade piece right now is Ken Walker and Jordyn Brooks.

It wasn't Pete's fault Adams became chronically injured after he came to Seattle. He was a bad-ass before that happened. This defense would be completely different if he could stay healthy.

Jamal Adams was extremely inconsistent here. In fact, Carroll even mentioned "we're still trying to figure out how to use him" a year and a half after he initiated the trade. He would look like the best football player ever one game, then look like a huge liability the next. He never was as advertised here.

The trade never made sense. We traded for a safety whose game was predicated on freelancing. We ran a system here in Seattle that required the defense to have discipline, to play their assignments with discipline. He was always a fish out of water in Carroll's scheme.

The move kind of seemed like a desperation play from the get go.

Your point would be more impactful if Adams could cover a dead donkey. Even at his healthiest and best he was terrible in coverage. Most of his lapses were mental. So either his brain was injured or he's just not good in coverage. We paid a lot of money and gave up some very lofty picks for him and I don't feel I'm being unfair in saying that falls on Pete.

Adams is not being released. His cap penalty would cripple the team next year.

The CBA doesn't accommodate the release of players on injured reserve without a settlement. And, Adams isn't close to passing a physical anytime soon.
