I wonder if Pete was quizzing Ken Norton before each call and delaying the calls? I know he would do that with Bevell.

FYI: DON"T LISTEN to Mike Salk blowing this podcast WAYYYY out of proportion! OMG he makes it out like Quandre lit up Pete and the Defense. :34853_doh: Nothing of the sort. It's just honest, straight talk.

Sounds like keeping Carroll is going to mean losing Diggs

It's the silly season and people, especially podcasters and fringe reporters are looking for and/or creating controversies where they don't really exist. OK, I didn't listen to the whole podcast, but from what I heard it was pretty straightforward and candid. It didn't sound like Quandre was ruling out playing here going forward, he was just questioning some of the strategies that were used over the last couple of years. Frankly, most of what he said about that has been banging around this board for quite a while now.

The fact that the Hawks are basically restructuring their defensive coaching staff from the top down tells me that Pete is NOT accepting things as they are and is looking for good answers going forward. I kind of like going "young" and bringing in new blood while stil "promoting from within." I'm not sure how it will work out, but that's OK. I don't have to work there. :)

Dude, where you getting that?
Diggs has mad respect for Pete, and judging by how both Pete & John have been focused on QD, I'm getting ZERO vibes that they & he aren't going to try and make his return to the Seahawks happen.
I don't Borrow Bad Vibes.

Wow. Diggs isn't going to be back in Seattle. And his comments aren't going to help Seattle land free agents. )It kind of seems like he's a popular dude around the league.)

There was quite a bit of criticism. And the context for that criticism was, "Pete has the final say."

— Pete has final say on the defense
— He feels there were too many people involved in the defensive decision making
— They didn’t get calls in on-time during the season
— He suggests the ‘cover-3’ system Carroll uses has gone stale
— Pete knows he needs to do something different (aka — he needs to)
— They don’t have good enough players on defense
— Clint Hurtt is a great coach and has the respect of the defense
— He says ‘everyone’ needs to be on the same page (implying they weren’t)
— ‘We need to let our rushers rush and let our pass defenders handle the pass’
— ‘We were lacking accountability last year’

Out of those 9 points, i can say 6 are referring to Pete. And yep, Pete Carroll was responsible for the dreadful 7-10 season. But hey, Solari and Norton are gone. Looks like Pete still doesn’t wanna be held accountable.

Also in that interview, Quandre Diggs says that Russell Wilson absolutely is one of the best to ever play the game; Says that sometimes when the games looked hopelessly lost, Wilson would be pushing the 'Let's Go, We Can Still Win This', and he'd go out, work his magic, and turn the game into a win.
Also said that Matt Stafford has been way underestimated & undervalued.

He makes a good point. As always, I'll take the opinion of ACTUAL FOOTBALL PLAYERS over some of the crap I read on here.
