Seahawks drafted Marquise Blair for hard-hitting style — but can he cover?

“I thought this was pretty telling,” Huard said of a recent stat from Pro Football Focus during Tuesday morning’s Blue 42 segment of Brock and Salk.

“Pro Football Focus looked at the coverage guys in the Pac-12. It’s not a surprise to see a couple safeties at the top of it; it’s easier for safeties to cover than it is for corners, who can be a bit on an island.

Blue 42

Seahawks second-round pick Marquise Blair was ranked second among all eligible Pac-12 DBs in one particular area. Which was that? Also: What is the jet sweep, and how commonplace was it in last year's NFL? Should a veteran QB really be held responsible for mentoring a younger quarterback?

I’d say yes!

Think he’s going to knock the snot out of several WRs just to start with.

He has elite short area quickness and is a hitter, as depth he’ll make his presence felt.

Am excited about his addition even if he’s just a ST player this season.

Our depth at DB is good.

Not sure why you asked about the jet sweep. However since Gruden and his protege Mcvay showed up it's gaining popularity. Copy cat league. Iam not 100 percent sure when they like the call. Although influencing LB's and db's to the outside can open up the short middle quick pass .High percentage play and staple of the WC offense.
