Why doesn't the defense do this?

Take advantage of the crowd noise by moving the front 7 around before the snap. Make it difficult to make line calls. I never see a 3-4 defense that lines all their players up zero movement on every play. It's really inexcusable that professional coaches can't see how this would be a big advantage especially when the oline can't hear the protections.

Keeping things simple for your own team also makes it simple for the other team

Carroll has always liked to keep things simple on defense. He's always been a fan of lining up and forcing your will on the opponent. Even in the Carroll's hey-day it was very much the same sort of mentality.

Move them wherever you want but a zebra can't change their stripes. This defense is truly aweful!
