August 13 Post Practice Press Conference

Quick Injury updates going into the 1st pre season game tomorrow:

KPL: Shoulder strain may keep him out of the game. Different shoulder than he injured last season

Coleman: coming back from his IR last season. May get a few snaps Friday

Irvin: Good to go

Jesse Williams: will get some time after having his kidney removed 3 months ago

McCoy: had some issues with heat early in camp, but is raring to go now

Sherman: Hip not likely to play, just being overly cautious, taking care of him for the long haul. doesn't seem to be anything to worry about

Blackmon: Groin said it's minor, and again just being overly cautious and taking care of him as well.

In addition, Richard Sherman will not play due to “a little bit of irritation in the hip flexor area."

Will Blackmon will also sit out with a groin injury.

I'm particularly thrilled about Jesse Williams. Maybe he won't do anything long term with the Hawks but going from cancer surgery 3 months ago to taking preseason snaps? Simply amazing. Very exciting for him and all his supporters.

There are quite a few young guys that may not make the squad, but I'm interested in watching. Of course there are also those camp battles, such as WR, guard, center, FB, 2nd CB (after Sherman of course) that are all going to draw my interest this pre season.

Davis Hsu indicated that KPL could be out for at least all of pre-season.

Said a 'Little birdy' was his source. I would have loved to see KPL make a strong showing, but it's beginning to appear he's made of glass. Why must the speedy ones be so injury prone? Pete finally gets his 4.4sec LBer, but he can't stay on the field long enough to benefit self or team.

Anyhow, releasing Deshon Foxx and signing LB Alex Singleton seems to support what Hsu tweeted.
