I thought Amosa did really well at FB, but he's also a pure FB with no real versatility. Interesting stuff. Hopefully he sticks on the PS if he doesn't make the team or whatever.

Tony McDaniel was solid for us, wonder if he still has it.

Wonder if they were worried about Reed having growing pains.

Like Browner, McDaniel has Super Bowl-championship experience that you hope will rub off on some of the younger guys. McDaniel played a lot for Tampa Bay last year. Not a plus pass rusher, but he is great at holding his gap and playing the run.

If McDaniel is coming back and potentially taking some snaps it's going to be at 3 tech, which should mean that Rubin might be moved down to 1 tech, which makes some sense to me anyway. Maybe Reed plays a little of both?

Interesting development either way.

McDaniel was serviceable-plus. Good depth move at the very least.

I mean to say McDaniel wasn't sitting around on the couch. He played 302 snaps in 14 games, which is about the same number of snaps as Frank Clark or Jordan Hill last season.

Also, he had 25 tackles last season (the 13 were just solo tackles). Per snap, that's about the same as his production in 2014.

Not a flashy guy, who is going to fill up a stat sheet; he just does the little things well to hold his gap and allow the LBs to make plays.

He has Jefferson and Bryant making the roster over Jordan Hill.

I see it the same way right now. Don't see how Siliga makes it back in time from his injury, and we all know Hill continues to be hurt all the time. You just can't count on him any longer.

And he knows the system. He can step right in, may be effective as early as thursday. I like the signing. He played well for us two seasons ago. He is 32, but it seems linemen can be effectI've well after that. Wilforks fat ass is still playing, he has to be in his mid to late 30s.
