What a load of crap. How does the league and players not see that this is part of the problem as to why so many star players get knocked out of the game in the first 4 weeks of every season since they started this crap?

The body needs to be conditioned to the physicality of the sport.

Injuries are a part of the game, but so is contact. You're not going to stop injuries by limiting contact.

Unbelievable. Fined and penalized for practicing in today's world.

You hit it on the head. Just look at Joey Bosa.

Exactly. In a time where the League is supposed to be concerned more about player safety, they continue to make terrible decisions in that regard.

Remember the rules were negotiated by the players themselves in their contract.

Can this be appealed?

I wish they would appeal! They took this one on the chin in 2014. I would love to know how many other teams are getting popped for this. Find it hard to believe 31 others teams are completely clean.

Oh I know it was. Doesn't mean it's right or the smartest decision.

The league has been limiting offseason contact increasingly for about 10 years....I'm really curious as to the injury statistics comparing the before and after. Players want to get paid, that's understandable. It's not a rule for the stars of the game, it's for the camp fodder that get injured on small contracts. They make more money if they're on the roster week 1. It's not about player safety, it's about player income.

They also lose a week of OTAs. They'll be playing catchup in training camp in conditioning for sure... Especially their new rookies.

Pete wants to cultivate a culture of competition even at the risk of bending the rules. I am okay with it. It's actually a silly rule if you think about it. Who cares if there's physical contact in June? Dumb.

So we just lost out on our Future Pro Bowl LT who is currently lined up as a DT for a division 2 school.

Great, we are screwed.
