Yes it was an ugly loss. And yes maybe injuries played a role. But when you can not:

1.) Pass Block
2.) Run Block
3.) Run the ball well.
4.) Get separation with our wide receivers besides Graham, and Baldwin
5.) And most importantly Rush the Quarterback...,

Most of the time you will lose. Teams have figured us out with the passing game. Double Graham and for the most part no one else is going to beat you, because our line can't hold back the rush long enough for any one to get separation. Russ has to release the ball sooner than he wants, resulting in either an incompletion or an interception. And our run blocking is just deplorable. Rawls is getting most of those yards on his own.

One last note. The quick pass to the side line in hopes of getting the receiver free down the field; we need to put to rest.
It's not working.

Let me tell you. These last 5 games will be a fight to the finish. I'll always cheer our team on, but it's going to be a little rocky. Let's see how tough the Hawks really are. Adversity is now staring them in the face with 5 games to go.

Related but...time of possession, qb sacks and fumbles.

This game hurts a lot. It didn't look like the same team s it actually wasn't due to injuries.

A lot to be positive about actually all things considered.

ROad game all the way across the country, DECIMATED by injuries, all 3 phases played like complete crap today, Oline was HORRBILE, and yet we lost by only 9 and had the ball three times in the final 8 minutes.

My friend thinks its the Thanksgiving dinner then having to fly out all the way to Florida and play in an early game, says players looked sluggish.

I think it didn't help that Britt wasn't at center to help with the line adjustments. How many times did we see free rushers from all over the place. Bucs Dline were getting doubled but yet still broke through the double teams, they were playing for their playoff hopes. Not to mention the Refs let both teams play physical on defense. It's also weird that our receivers were getting undercut by the Bucs DB all day it seemed, like they ran the route even better than our receivers.

Would it help if there were more fan threads about who is 'in the mood' to wear whatever clothes?

This team sucked today, there is an enormous drop off when that many starters are missing.

Carolina is going to kick our O lines ass.

Expect more of the same as today.
Even after we get our starting center back? The center doesn't just block, he reads defenses and makes line calls, picking up blitzes, etc.

Uhh, yes. Carolina swept us last season because that D line dominates.

Not sure why anyone thinks the Panthers front 7 isn't going to beat us bad.

They are not the same team. Look at their record. Their D allows a lot of plays.

Stop.

Look at the Bucs record. Look at the Rams record. Look at the Saints record. Look at the Cardinals record.

Records don't mean jack in this league.

Look at match-ups. Carolina's D line is going to eat us alive.

If Carolina kicks our OLs ass then we will return the favor. They have a bottom 5 OL as well.

How did Philly's elite pass rush do last week against Seattle's O-line?

The sky is not falling.

The Bucs were supposed to be susceptible in the secondary as well. The absence of Norman means diddly if there's no time to exploit it.

I remember a season opening Rams game where their weak OL was supposed to be worse than our weak OL (I think they had 5 guys in new spots or 5 rookies) and they killed our OL. In the battle of weak OL vs. decent DL we will lose every. Single. Time. That matchup is poison to us, regardless of record, we've proven this over and over again.

If Britt returns we have a better shot obviously, but even so it's a 50/50 proposition we're all horrified by our offense again next week.

Well lets look at last year in 2nd half..All we need to do is that same offense and we will win.

Was the ass-whipping the Panthers put on us not against that 2nd-half team?

What "ass-whipping"? The first time we played, the Panthers pulled out a miracle win with 31 secs to day because in large part we didn't have Chancellor and because the defense messed up, Olsen was uncovered. Seattle dominated most of that game.

In the playoffs, that only applies to the first half. Seattle lost by less than a score in the end and came within a whisker of pulling it off. In fact if you look at the stats, Seattle actually had a better game (far better than Arizona did a week later). Sure in the end it's the score that matters, but Seattle wasn't whipped by any stretch.
