It hurts us, but not a whole lot.

Atlanta just went into LA and thumped the Rams, and gave up 14 points in garbage time.

We have twice the defense of the Falcons. It's not totally unrealistic to expect a shutout at home vs. the Rams, after how bad this team played today. They're going to be pissed. The defense has a lot of pride at least, and the Rams may beat us, but they really do it scoring a lot of points.

Then we get AZ at home, and SF. it's not unreasonable to expect both teams to score 10 or less.

Anybody know where to go updated standings? I assume given the last three opponents if the Hawks are in first now they will stay in first the rest of the season.

Just dropped to third.... .5 behind the Vikes and .1 behind Pats. Hopefully they will get back the 1st spot after this week's games.

Ouch. That game really hurt. Feel confident with the Rams and 9ers still on deck though.

I really hope they get the scoring title 5 years in a row, that would be an awesome feat.

I quickly went through the numbers of the remaining games to get a picture of what they are facing.

Currently they are 3rd

Vikings - 225
Patriots - 230
Hawks - 232
Ravens - 237
Cowboys - 238
Broncos - 242

I took the current points and added in the scoring avg (home/away) for each team's last 3 opponents. Hawks have a good chance but that have to keep all their opponents at or below their average.

Vikings 225 + 70.9 (Colts 29.3, @Packers 26.3, Bears 15.3) = 295.9
Pats 230 + 71.3 (@Broncos 25.3, Jets 19, @Dolphins 27) = 301.3
Hawks 232 + 59.3 (Rams 16.5, AZ 22.8, @49ers 20) = 291.3
Ravens 237 + 71.8 (Eagles 21, @Steelers 28, @Bengals 22.8) = 308.8
Cowboys 238 + 70.3 (Bucs 22.7, Lions 23.8, @Eagles 23.8) = 308.3
Broncos 242 + 78.9 (Patriots 29.3, @chiefs 23.5, Raiders 26.1) = 320.9

This also depends on if my data and math are correct ;)

Getting the Rams a goose egg tonight will go a long way to getting them back on track.

If my math is correct, the Seahawks are now back in first for scoring defense at 16.7 ppg. That is if everything stays the same after next Monday. Either case they should be no worse than where they were prior to yesterday's game.

Looks like the Pats are gong to get a shutout today, all but ending the Seahawks shot at the title.

There's still hope for garbage time points.

We can kiss that scoring title goodbye probably.

That Packer game killed us. We...AND...the Defense can thank the offense with their ..5? 6? turnovers in GB for not getting the scoring title this year

The defense can thank themselves. No shutouts this year, and disappointing at times considering the cap spent on def and most of the back 7 have been playing together for several years now. Yes 2013 had depth, but this year has experience.

The gameplan in Greenbay was to contain Rodgers in the pocket. That's a plan setup for failure. For being so smart our coaches can be so dumb sometimes

Three points for the Jets. So shutting out the Cards should put the Hawks in good position with just the 9ers to play, right?

Yes they have now allowed 236 points to the Seahawks 235 with 15 games played.
