So here's the major rundown of what it took for PC and JS to get the Hawks to the SB

January 11, 2010 - Pete Carroll officially hired by Seahawks.
January 19, 2010 - Pete Carroll hires John Schnieder as General Manager
January 19, 2010 on - PC and JS begin roster revamp. One of the major moves in this was trading Chris Clemons for Darryl Tapp.
April 24, 2010 - John Schneider uses his first two picks as GM to select Russell Okung, LT and Earl Thomas, FS.
Week 5, 2010 Season: John Schneider trades 4th and 5th Round pick for Marshawn Lynch.
Week 18, Wildcard Round: Beast mode happens as Seahawks top Saints
Week 19, Divisional Round: Seahawks lose to Bears, but season shows promise
2011 Offseason: Lockout shortened Offseason. John Schneider signed Sydney Rice and Tarvaris Jackson from Minnesota, Robert Gallery from Oakland, Zach Miller From Oakland
2011 NFL Season: Finish 7-9, but Seahawks show some more promise.
March 8, 2012: Matt Flynn Signs with Seahawks for $26M over 3 years.

April 26, 2012: John Schneider drafts Bruce Irvin, DE who had troubled history. Some people thought he'd never play a down.
April 27, 2012, John Schneider drafts Bobby Wagner, LB from Utah State and Russell Wilson, QB from Wisconsin/NC State.
December 12, 2012: Russell Wilson completes upset of Chicago Bears, proving the Seahawks are contenders for the Superbowl.
January 6, 2013: Seahawks defeat RGIII-led Washington Redskins, Chris Clemons tears ACL
January 13, 2013: Seahawks nearly complete miracle comeback after being down 20 at halftime to score 21 points in the fourth quarter, but lose to a Falcons FG, 30-28 final.
March 11, 2013: John Schneider trades a 2013 1st Round Pick, 2014 3rd Round Pick, 2013 7th Round pick for Percy Harvin, WR who is one of the best WRs at the time.
March 13, 2013: Seahawks sign Cliff Avril, DE to two year, $15M contract.
March 14, 2013: Seahawks continue spending spree by signing Michael Bennett to one year, $4.8M contract.
April 29, 2013: Seahawks' surprise pick is Christine Michael, RB from Texas A&M. Future of Hawks' RB
November 10, 2013: Seahawks's most complete game of the year vs. Atlanta, 33-10 W.
January 19, 2013: Seahawks beat 49ers 23-17 to advance to the Super Bowl.

some dates are from Wikipedia(I was too lazy to research), some numbers are from Wikipedia as well so sorry for not citing sources. Just thought it would be interesting to find major events it took to reach Super Bowl 48. Go Hawks.
