How will other teams prepare to win against us?

Only three teams beat us last year. We had the best W L record of all teams. We were 16-3 with the Broncos coming in second with 15-4.

Of those three teams really only one has a darn good chance to beat us next year on a good day.
Our offense wasn't as good at parts of last season as we know they can be much better. RW keeps getting better. With a reliable OL that can give a 3-4 seconds window space and separation and some better blocking for ML. We will put up higher numbers and ease the pressure on the D.

Now what's on the minds of all the teams that "know" they will play us and those other who "most likely" will play us is how you exploit any weaknesses we have defensively - and there are not many. So they will be revisiting the films, and re-writing the play books all on account of the mighty Hawks defense, especially the LOB.

I wish them all the luck, and that ain't gonna even come close to helping them.
(wringing hands) mwahahaha.

2014 is gonna be another mission. I bigger mission. To win it all once is fabulous, but twice in a row is LEGENDARY, we got a lotta guys who wanna be legendary!!!

They will try to keep Wilson in the pocket, probably playing a lot of zone to keep Wilson honest and unable to just take off. Look at how the Rams, Cardinals and 9ers played the offense to get a clue of what can be done to slow them down. Maybe Harvin changes that strategy? I don't know but he should be an asset.

To attack the defense, maybe they attack more with the run? Look to mimic what the Colts did against the defense?

The special teams should be good, though it will be interesting to see who takes over the punt returner role. That role has helped change games ever since Pete has been here with Leon winning the Chargers game, setting up the win against the Pats and setting the team up to win in Atlanta during the playoffs. Tate had a few game changers last year against the Bucs and a few others I cannot remember.

TL;DR

Attack the Seahawks run defense to see if losing Red and Clem makes a difference. Try to bottle up Wilson, play less man coverages. Probe the offensive line for weaknesses. Try to stalemate the special teams.

I think with Red gone most teams think their best shot is to run it up the gut on us. As for stopping our offense? We are a completely different team with Harvin so just like us fans I don't think other teams know what to expect just yet.

It will be a MUST for everyone we face, to focus on Harvin, AND Lynch, do their damndest to contain Wilson, and keep all the plays in front of them (easier said than done)
There'll be a lot of times that they just will not be able to get that done.

The late-season games vs. the Cardinals and 49ers last season were the blueprint for how to beat (or nearly beat) the Hawks. You have to match defense with defense, and pair it with a 'small ball' (in baseball terms) offense where you take what you can get knowing that if you're able to get one big play somewhere (ex: the TD pass to Michael Floyd) it can be the difference in the game. Teams will also continue to blitz the Hawks into submission to throw off the timing of the Hawks passing game (as all 3 of our divisional foes did with success last season) until the Hawks can produce a consistently good pass protecting O-line, while also stacking the box on obvious running downs against the Hawks' predictable play-calling (Lynch in the A-gap for a tackle-for-loss) in those situations.

Losing big red and Clem have a negative effect on the run D. The Hawks LB's are not great at stuffing the run, seems that .net members forget what the D looked like early last year or the end of the year before. The key to beating the Hawks is to commit to the run game and don't turn the ball over. Need to have a stout D also. It aint magic. The Hawks D will be weaker against the run this year, they were not dominate last year and they lost a couple of the guys that shored it up. Our linebackers are a liability in the run game. It will be exposed this year.

RW and an older ML will need to pick up the slack.

Any "blueprint" by SF and Arizona is irrelevant if Harvin is on the field. So, basically, hope Harvin isn't and then be Arizona or SF and you *might* have a chance. Last year.

Nobody beat the Seahawks last year, 100 yard penalty screw job games beat the hawks.

And boom goes the dynamite,. You hit it, we improve our pass o-line and there is no way they can prepare, we don't and we need to hope Rw can continue his magic while still being the most hit, hurried and sacked QB in the league. The formula to beating us is all reliant on our o-line not being good, and the other teams being able to bottle up Rw, and ML. Now again this was also based on last years Wr and the fact they struggle to get open. With Harvin that will change some. But again as of now just bottle up ML and RW and do not give RW time and there you go. The issue being our o-line, thankfully there are only a few teams in the league with the players to do it. The bad part 2 of them are in our division.

↑ easier said then done. I think it was Merril Hoge and blueprint talk before the Saints playoff game. Another analyst did his best not to giggle and politely pointed out you have to have the players to do so. Only a couple of teams have the manpower.
