That is an astounding amount of money tied into players that aren't on the field on Sunday. That's nearly an entire team's budget.

I guess no team from the NFC West can use injuries as an excuse for missing the playoffs.

I know for the Cardinals.

John Abraham 2,500,000 (Played 1 game)
Carson Palmer 17,125,000 (played 6 games)
Dockett 8,750,000 (played 0 games)
Washington 3,000,000 with 8,000,000 deferred (0 games)
Zastudil 1,252,500 (played 1 game)

Cardinals Total 34,252,500

On a side note, we are still paying the Turnstile Levi Brown 4.2 million this year..

That is an unreal amount of money lost to IR from the division. Not trying to start any conspiracy mumbo jumbo, but it is a rather crazy coincidence that the NFC West has had so many injuries this year.

There seems to be a strong West coast bias on injuries. Do you think Roger is behind it? Team Iro will say no of course.
:stirthepot: On a more serious note I don't recall so many big name guys getting hurt in the same division.

Sure they can...just not as an excuse to losing the division.

If the winner of the NFC West is the only team of the 4 playing in January then it's pretty easy to claim that injuries played a part in not picking up one of those 2 Wild Card spots.

Seahawks IR Price Tag:

Coleman, Derrick - $495,000
Farwell, Heath - $1,500,000
Gilreath, David - $318,000
Marsh, Cassius - $303,000
McCoy, Anthony - $950,000 (+$400,000 incentives)
Mebane, Brandon - $5,500,000
Miller, Zach - $900,000 (+1,987,500 bonuses)
Schilling, Stephen - $645,000
Scruggs, Greg - $570,000
Taylor, Mike - $303,000
Williams, Jesse - $303,000

I left off signing bonus money so it would only include salaries and put bonuses in parenthesis as a variable, since I don't have the contract verbage, they may or may not get those bonuses.

$11,787,000 - $14,174,500 This is the range of salaries sitting on the Seahawks IR right now.
