Taylor Mays (Update: Released from the Vikings)

He will be a FA and we do need some secondary and lb depth. If there is one coach that would know how to use him it is Pete.

Assuming of course he is low cost and the bridge wasn't burned when he was drafted.

Great special teams player . . . That's about it. Zero coverage awareness. It would be pretty funny to add him on a veteran minimum deal after the way he complained about Pete having the audacity to draft Earl Thomas over him.

You guys don't want him at all, but it will never happen.

He hates Carroll. He blames Carroll for him falling in the draft, thinks Carroll lied to him to get him back for another year at USC, and thinks Carroll lied to him throughout the draft process.

Was gonna say that makes sense b/c Mike Singletary is Asst. Head Coach of the Vikings and it's well known that Mays was his draft pick when he was HC of the 9ers, but apparently Singletary left the Vikings in January and is now working in the league office. Oh well.

Mays is a decent enough ST player. There are worse back safeties in the league (hello Craig Dahl).

Makes more sense in that he played for Mike Zimmer at Cincinnati. Zimmer is now the head coach of the Vikings. He seems to be bringing in a handful of his former players.
