2 years ago on New Year's Eve after shoveling I literally died my wife performed 15 minutes of CPR until the EMTs came I'm posting now so here's praying for the guy!
Early and effective CPR is so important in regards to surviving sudden cardiac arrest.

Glad you’re here Bro.

Please folks take a class or update if it’s been awhile.

I tend to agree, as much as I am loathe to give the NFL front office (especially Goodell) any credit, this is a legitimate life and death emergency that just hit a very large operation. This kind of thing never goes smoothly when it's just grandpa having a heart attack at the dinner table, forget a national broadcast and a stadium full of people.

Same has happened with ice hockey goalies being struck in the chest by a slapshot

Absolutely a good point to make.

In cardiac arrest the survival rate goes up exponentially with immediate good quality CPR and early defibrillation.

Hands only CPR for lay people is what’s taught these days, risk of any type of infection is almost nil.
Please take a CPR course or update yourself if it’s been awhile.
CPR absolutely saves lives, and it might be someone you love that gets saved.
Learning CPR is so important! A few years back in our ice hockey beer league a friend saved another players life by giving him CPR on the ice. When I had my heart attack in 2015 I fortunately received CPR immidiately because I collapsed at the clinic checking in for my scheduled doctor appointment.

Absolutely.
I’ve been a CPR instructor for many years.
I fully understand the importance.
I’d love to see our schools nationwide include CPR in the required curriculum. I’d like to see an initial course at sophomore year, then a refresher senior year.

for the record:
It’s an absolute fallacy that if you’ve been trained in CPR you can be held liable/responsible for a life you tried in good faith to save.
Good Samaritan Laws protect you.

Also for the record:

If Damar Hamlin survives and recovers it will be because he received good quality CPR early.

This is an indisputable FACT.
There is no doubt about that. He wasn't breathing on his own and it only takes a few minutes for brain death. He may have the best chance compared to most... young, healthy, and surrounded quickly by professionals.

I haven't heard whispers of bad news, which is a great ******* sign. Thankful for those professionals.

As I still stand that it was foolish to cancel the game. Since both players and teams didn’t want to continue, it should count as a double forfeit.

Seriously? JFC.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't about want. They couldn't continue. They were literally wondering if they had just watched their friend and teammate expire in front of them.

C'mon man. Have some compassion. A guy dropped dead on the field, in front of 60k+ people + millions live watching. If he doesn't survive, we all just watched someone die.

Some things are more important than a game. Have some common sense.

If both teams mutually agree to the double forfeit vs the alternative of playing the game later in the week, the nfl should just say We are going to call this a tie.

Given that the Bills have left Cincy while Allowing some players to remain, it seems that’s the most likely outcome. I don’t see Cincy insisting that the game be played on Wednesday or later given that they’re also playing week 18 on Sunday.

A tie is the fairest football outcome to come out of this. I

Players are paid so that they can give the people, fans entertainment. Even though players get injured, it’s all part of the game and marketing.

At what injury can players decide that they shouldn’t play? What about when Tua got hurt against the Bengals. It’s common sense to understand that this is a violent sport but that’s why these guys get paid the big bucks.

Now this is a big mess because of playoff seating and fantasy stats. If they continue this rematch, it will affect both parties for an extra game.

Stuff like this is so unprecedented that I could actually see the Bills and Bengals insisting on a dual loss so they not be seen as capitalizing on a tragic situation.

I certainly wouldn't want to see a Seahawks win because the opposing team lost a player to a potentially fatal injury—playoff seeding be damned.

The type of injury where a player may die is "at what injury."
I remember having to keep on missions when one of my friends and brother Marines was shot through the mouth and neck and died.

But that was a war and we had to press on, even though I was crying on the inside after the tears on the outside had stopped.

This isn't a war. The fate of a conflict doesn't rest on the Bengals and Bills. It's a game. It's OK to let the game go and reflect.
