DK has a perception/reality issue. He thinks he's better, more valuable, more promising than he really is. I get the feeling that he thinks the offense should revolve around him, that he's being held back by the team, somewhat similar to what RW was thinking later in his Seahawk career.

Only very recently have I started to become wary of him. When I heard he was going to be out this game, I was somewhat surprised that I didn't think it mattered, that Tyler, Bobo, JSN, and the TE's would make his absence almost undetectable.

That turned out to be true, at least to me.

I don’t think the Seahawks use him to his potential.
For as fast as he is, for as incredible of a physical specimen he is, he has a somewhat limited range as a receiver. He's not *twitchy* much at all, he's not sudden in that start and stop sort of way, he hasn't shown me that he can exploit a defense with his mind and know-how, find its weaknesses in that way.

He basically uses his size and straight up speed to be an effective receiver, crowding out defenders when he does it right, and simply torching defenders with his straight up speed. But for as big and athletic as he is, he lacks the *hands* to exploit defenders when you want to *high point* a pass to him, something which Randy Moss made a career out of.

I think he's a bit overrated, and more than a bit in his own mind.

In Pete, Carroll’s offense, you only need solid quarterbacks and receivers, not superstars. With that said, unless you get a solid receiver and strong draft capital back for him, I would not trade him right now, as his stock is low versus what it was.
Because of his attitude which is crazy, I can’t understand how he doesn’t take over games. Why he can’t catch slants over the middle at will… bang bang catch, no more sacks, set up deep balls, he should be able to take over like Larry did

His strength is to go deep. Line hasn't been great this year to allow for deep plays. He is worth the money and scares defenses still to open up games, gotta just throw it up to plant in their brains.

His flaws will always be his flaws after this long in the league. Can't high point, not great on contested throws, not great getting open in RZ. He should be able to fix his boneheaded temper.

Careful though, John63 Soulfishhawk will come after you talking about Russell Wilson DK Metcalf

You should be OK, being 6000 miles away, don't think John and soul's arms are that long.

We can rid ourselves of his antics next year I think. The future is those young guys. We scored with Bobo and JSN.

Neither did Ole Miss? He sang second fiddel to AJ Brown for years.
Brown is better. The problem with DK is he's 6'4" and plays like he's 5'11" when the ball is in the air. For as athletically gifted as he is, he's a slow jumper and poorly timed jumper. Throwing 50/50 jump balls to him up high turns them into 70/30 balls the wrong way. I'd rather they throw postup and back shoulder 50/50 balls. Even then, he's a body catcher almost exclusively. Not good. He's a solid #1.75-#2 receiver not a #1. The question will be can he accept that or not?

DK lacks a total, dominant game.

Initially, I thought that we had drafted Megatron II, but that fantasy has become... a reality in my mind. DK is not worth the targets that he is getting.

I'd rather see his targets go to JSN and Bobo. Both are deserving of more targets and DK is not capitalizing on the ones that he is getting.

I'd support trading DK and getting in return, two Round 2 draft picks... one in 2024 and one in 2025. He's not worth the cap space that he is eating up.

His childlike behavior, f.ex being ridiculously easy to provocate, has caused him to become a bit of a disappointment. His production could be better although I'm not complaining about that. But it's the drive killing selfish and childish tantrums that keep him from reaching his athletic potential. And at this point I dont think that will change. It's not his second year anymore.

There will not be a 1st round pick in return if we trade him. Other teams can see all this too.
