IMO the big problem is that our good, young talent is in the wrong places. We're weak up the middle. Our offensive line, particularly the interior OL, is very weak. For what we're paying them, our safeties are dismal, and even if their play this season is an anomaly, Diggs turns 31 next month, Adams is not likely to be on the roster next season. Our QB is 33 years old and average at best with no QBOTF on the horizon.
We do have some good but not great young talent at WR, RB, and CB (exception being 'Spoon, who's been outstanding). We have an edge rusher in Boye Mafe who has shown a lot of potential. Brooks has been OK, Taylor horrible. Derick Hall has struggled. Our OT's, maybe. For as high as we selected him, Cross has been a bit of a disappointment. The jury is still out on Lucas. Our guards and center are horrible. Tight ends are above average but underutilized.
I don't think our talent is exceptional, nor do I think we're in the bottom 1/4. As Bill Parcells once said, you are what your record says you are: Mediocre.
