Actually, Drew Brees ........He was a second round pick. his rookie year, he couldnt beat out Doug Flutie. Year 2, he started, but threw for 17 TDs and 16Ints and just over 3000 yards for a team that finished at .500. year 3, he was replaced again by Flutie.
Not Drew's fault.

Everyone paled in comparison to the great, magical Doug Flutie! 😃

Nobody eats crow around here. Just a lot of different excuses. For years I said Pete Carroll would never take the team anywhere again yet sniff another Super Bowl and people called me crazy and a hater. Well, here we are.
Predicting any given NFL team won't make the Super Bowl is a pretty safe prediction. Forgive me if I'm not breaking out the silverware.

Was talking to a dude at work today who is a Washington fan. He is pissed that they let Howell go and predicts he will be our starter from week 5 on. Told him I'd buy him a sixer if he's right. That would be too cool to get our future qb through that trade.

It would be fine with me if we never draft a QB, and instead get ones like this that are game-tested.
Exactly. I’ve said it ten times and going for eleven- last year Mahomes would have been 1 and done in the playoffs with this defense. To get the division back and to even think about a nfc championship game again, it starts and ends with this defense.

One thing the seattle seahawks are known for was zagging
If grubb can devise an offense that can mitigate a defense like Md's well , we might have somethin
Already proven Mike D can so Iron sharpens iron
This may the next coaching tree that is always brought up in primetime games type stuff

I've heard nothing different from friends and family who are Washington fans... and its more than 'a few'.

The consensus take was that the incompetence of the staff and FO was stunting / ruining Howell's potential, and that in a different situation, he'd be a star. That was in the thick of things last year whrn the team was in a slow death spiral.

Howell was one of the very few bright spots on that team and without his heroics, they would have been worse.

Ultimately however, the dude fell victim to a hapless organization, a coach who was 5 years beyond his expiration date, and an OC who'd lost his group even before the season started and deployed lopsided, pass heavy schemes, game in and game out, that were doomed to fail.

In consideration of this and a lot of other similar info I've been hearing, I don't think anyone can confidently say it isn't possible the Seahawks may have scored a major coup d'etat in acquiring Howell. Will be very interesting to watch and see what he can do in a completely different situation from last season.

I live in the area where people are Raven, Redskin and Panther fans it was known that the fans and front office was 50/50 if they would keep Howell and build around him or start over and draft a QB and a popular belief the owner wanted a shiny new toy in a new QB

My best friend is a skins fan and I watched alot of redskins games.(I still call them redskins, fight me) this guy is legit and I was pissed when yall snagged him in a trade. That team was dysfunctional last year and put him in a bad spot, they made a huge mistake in letting him go.

We can kinda relate to that.

Most of the true fans still consider them the Skins. If the new owner ship wanted to win back the fan base they would change the name back but I doubt he has the guts to do it

I can kinda understand that. Plus they had such a high pick its tempting to grab that shiny new toy. I'd have kept Howell and traded down in the first for extra picks to get new offensive linemen

One thing I have to say about Wadhington fans ........ I went to a Hawks game there a while back and they were the coolest people. Nothing like the degenerates in Philly, Cleveland, or NY . And now I may have to thank their team for the possibly good QB

If I was a GM and was keeping Howell I would’ve stayed at 2 and chosen Joe Alt or traded back for picks staying in the top 8 and selecting a WR

It's pretty wild. If Howell is above average as a starter and WASH had someone willing to trade-up and give future picks to get pick #2, they could have repeated the Lion's turnaround.

What’s worse the Redskins to Commanders, or Indians to whatever stupid name they picked.
