I used our own second rounder (50) and next year’s second rounder to trade up to 10 to get Warren, who comps to Kittle. In Kubiak’s offense, he could thrive. IMG 8555

I don't know much about him. Big dude.

I didn't want to create another post about a mock. I'll just leave this one here.

1st Round: (#18)
  • Selection: Gray Zabel: Guard (North Dakota State): 6’5: 312 lbs: 32’’ (Arms): 36.5’’ (Vertical): 9’3 (Broad): 26 reps (Bench): I have long wrestled with Zabel’s value, but it’s time to put it to bed. I feel comfortable with him here. He has the grades to back up his production. He has a strong work ethic and has no character concerns. He screams Seahawk first rounder to me. Watching him at the Combine doing drills gives you a real idea of how smooth he looks and how well he moves in space. Capable of doing any reach blocks you want in a ZBS system. I think Zabel will need to polish some things first but he has a real shot at starting at LG for a long long time with the Hawks. Pair him with his old college buddy in Jalen Sundell (center). I think there is some optimism that Sundell really takes off in Kubiak’s and Benton’s system. You go from a slow and horrible interior to possibly the most athletic interior in Zabel, Sundell, Haynes from left to right.
Film Study: Grey Zabel might be BEST O-LINEMEN in 2025 NFL Draft

2nd Round: (#50)
  • Selection: Darius Alexander: Defensive Tackle (Toledo): 6’3: 305 lbs: 32’’: 10’’ (hands): 4.95 (40-dash): 1.72 (10-split): 4.79 (Shuttle): 7.60 (3-Cone): 31.5’’ (Vertical): 9’3 (Broad): 28 reps (Bench): Alexander was a quick riser after the Senior Bowl. I think he is plateauing out just a bit now after the Combine. He didn’t test amazing given his play style. He has some inconsistency in his game with shedding ability and hand placement. However, the motor runs hot and he has a lot of pass moves. The name of his game is brute strength. He is possibly the BEST and I mean best power rusher in this class. I think he has real game-wrecking ability at the DT/DE spot. Him and the rest of the dogs now on the DLine are going to do some damage. I like him here in this range. I hope given how he tests and his age, he might last this long. You get a whole lot of nasty with the first 2 players taken.
Darius Alexander Highlights

2nd Round: (#52)
  • Selection: Jack Bech: Wide Receiver: (TCU): 6’1: 214 lbs: 9’’ (hands): 4.21 (Shuttle): 6.84 (3-Cone): 34.5 (Vertical): 10’5 (Broad): 19 reps (Bench): Jack Bech steps in and can be that technician WR that works well in the Kubiak offense. He’s not a burner but I think he can get behind the defense from time to time (a la Nakua). Bech is a good route runner and often wins at the top of the stem. That works in this offense. Rarely drops a pass with a career drop rate of under 4% percent. Does well with contested catches. Isn’t a YAC monster but is really physical after the catch. Big fan of him in this type of timing offense.
Jack Bech WR TCU SR Bowl MVP, Sneaky Good

3rd Round: (#82)
  • Selection: Riley Leonard: QB: (Notre Dame): 6’3.5: 216 lbs: 9.5’’ (hands): This is the polarizing pick. It took me many months to come back around on Leonard. This pick is not about now. It’s about the future. The Seahawks might have to trade up to get a QB, but here I stay to get the signal caller. Leonard is a great athlete with wheels and explosiveness. He showed a pretty good arm during the Combine. He made all of the throws. Leonard has a few things to work on. Known to be able to process but still needs to fully grow in this area when he’s in the league. He has to be able to make full-field reads and trust in the play instead of taking off right away. He has mostly clean mechanics and a smooth release. He doesn’t possess the strongest arm but the west coast/Kubiak system can hide that weakness. Elite mobility and has shown to adapt to new places. Carries himself very well and has a very “one of the boys” attitude and persona. Leonard is going to be 23 by the start of the 2025 NFL season. If he has to sit for a season or two, he’ll still be pretty young. His personality reminds me a lot of Sam Darnold.

3rd Round: (#92)
  • Selection: Tai Felton: Wide Receiver: (Maryland): 6’1: 181 lbs: 9’’ (hands): 4.37 (40-dash): 39.5’’ (Vertical): 10’10 (Broad): 25 reps (Bench): In this mock, you get your technician tough guy in Jack Bech. Lets double dip here to pair him with the speed merchant. I love Matthew Golden’s ability to snap his routes off at the top of the route stem. Felton isn’t as fast but he offers similar things. Felton has inside/outside versatility. Big time YAC dude with the ball in his hands. The more I think about it, the more I want the team to double dip at WR for rounds 2 and 3. You get cheap and productive WRs for the next 4 seasons. Plus, within a season or two – you will have to ask whether JSN is worth a $30m APY contract.

4th Round: (#137)
  • Selection: Jackson Hawes: Tight End: (Georgia Tech): 6’4: 253 lbs: 32’’ (Arms): 4.82 (40-dash): 1.56 (10-split): 4.40 (Shuttle): 34.5’’ (Vertical): 10’1 (Broad): 16 reps (Bench): Hawes is one of the best TE blockers in this class. He sets great angles and he is a blocking weapon. He’s great at doing split zone blocks, he can hold up on the edge for wide zone runs. He has versatility with pass protection and FB duties. He should go in this range because of a deep TE class and his limited availability in the pass game. Big time run blocker.

5th Round: (#171)
  • Selection: Nazir Stackhouse: Nose Tackle: (Georgia): 6’3: 327 lbs: 30.5’’ (Arms): 5.15 (40-dash): 1.80 (10-split): 27.5’’ (Vertical): 8’9 (Broad): The classic big body in the middle. He holds up really well in the run game. Anchors in and is really hard to move off the line, even against double teams. He’ll fit in and play a role. Limited in pass rush moves and lateral quickness but fills a role. Cam Young is most likely cut and Stackhouse can offer depth and be a rotational piece. He doesn’t have great hands but he’s a gapper. He sits in his gap and doesn’t really get moved. Classic NT. I never understand the need to take a NT early. Legit question. Can a first or second round NT even beat out Byron Murphy as a NT?
Nazir Stackhouse Highlights

5th Round: (#175)
  • Selection: Mac McWilliams: Cornerback (UCF): 5’10: 191 lbs: 29.7/8’’ (arms): 4.41 (40-yard): 1.52 (10-split): 34’’ (Vertical): He’s a feisty little CB with a nose for the ball. He flies towards the ball and wants to tackle. Plays under control most of the time. He has inside/outside versatility. He plays better in off-coverage and sitting in zone. He can allow too many easy catches and room. I think he has a lot to work with and can develop into a CB2 type.
Mac McWilliams | Cornerback | 2024 UCF Highlights | 2025 NFL Draft

7th Round: (#223)
  • Selection: Trikweze Bridges: CB/SAF (Florida): 6'2: 200 lbs: Really big CB and has versatility being a safety as well. Florida used him everywhere. That is going to really appeal to Mac. He has good speed and wants to hit dudes from the CB position. He started to play CB more for Florida during its last 4 games of the season and more than held his own. He excelled. Not many clips of him online.

7th Round: (#234)
Selection: Jack Kiser LB (Notre Dame): 6'1: 231 lbs: He's the classic try-hard MLB on a good team. Not the fastest. Not the biggest. Good instincts and usually gets the job done. The captain for the Notre Dame defense. The Seahawks can use some depth at the LB position.

Alright...after having some time to sit down and look at multiple player's NFL draft profiles and game-play, I'd like to have a re-do of my mock draft. I included screenshots of trades I accepted (2) to get good value from this meat and potatoes draft. I was mostly looking for positions of need but also for the future as well. I was also looking for players with very physical and smashmouth play.

I thought this was a great value trade, so I accepted it.

Then this trade came along, and I thought it was great value as well so I accepted it. Now the fun begins!

Ghkgh

Grey Zabel (LT, LG, C, RT)

Starting out with LG, I decided to make the obvious choice at BPA in my mock, which was Grey Zabel. This guy has played 4 out of 5 OLine positions, and depending on how he fares I'm sticking him at LG undoubtedly. Maybe not a starter just yet, give him some time to get his feet wet and refine some rough edges, then let him loose. One more point of interest is that he turned down significant NIL offers from other schools just to play on the same team as his brother. Here's some video breakdown:

Mike Green (Edge)
Up next at Edge we have Mike Green. He was the BPA as well and he has comparisons to Alex Highsmith, which is a compliment. He's a high energy pass rusher who's very physical and slightly violent. You want Seahawks smashmouth defense? Add this guy to your roster and watch him go. He had 17 sacks last season at Marshall, the most in Major College Football. Here's a 2 minute breakdown:

Harold Fannin Jr. (TE)
Next up on the list is TE Harold Fannin Jr. He wasn't the BPA, but he was the bext TE available and I didn't have to reach to grab him. His playstyle is comparable to Jordan Reed, with YAC and hard to bring down; that's the type of TE I'd like to see the Seahawks take, period. He also had record-breaking single-season catch production with decent hands. He does need to work on his route tree and run blocking but that can be taught; also some strength and conditioning wouldn't hurt. There's quite a bit of upside here. Here's a 2 minute breakdown:

Jonah Saviinaea (RG)

Another OLineman! Jonah has experience at RT, but I have him pushed inside to RG (possible RT backup). He has heavy hands and a wide, dense build possible of blocking off double-teams; also has a mean streak (which I personally love). Give him some strength and conditioning and reps and he could possibly shine as our RG of the future. Here's some film breakdown:

Jalen Royals (WR)
The trenches aren't the only thing getting built up! Here I took Royals to give the Hawks another hard-to-take-down offensive weapon with someone who knows how to high-point the ball and box out defenders! He works hard to catch the ball and not afraid to get dirty while adjusting his body to make the reception. He doesn't have burner speed like DK but he is fast and he has everything else we wanted DK to have. Here's some film breakdown:

Quinn Ewers (QB)
We finally have a QBOTF to get excited about. As he won't have to immediately start, he can sit and be groomed as our starter in 2-3 years while Darnold finishes through his contract here and take his time to learn the pros without any pressure or time limit to adapt. He will THRIVE under Kubiak's scheme when ready, and finally we can be done with bridge QB's after Darnold. He has good pocket presence, and can escape when he feels the pressure coming in. He's also good with improv if the play breaks down and can throw on the run; and his arm strength and accuracy are good as well. Here's some film breakdown:

Savion Williams (WR)
I chose to double dip at WR here by taking a very intreresting player that I can't help but root for. His NFL player comparison is Cordarelle Patterson, and that's not an exaggeration. He has experience in a WC offense as well as WR and RB. He's insanely versatile and his agility is great for a guy his size and weight. I think he'd fit in real well with the scheme here, and he's another player tough to bring down. He ALSO knows how to high-point the ball and box out defenders. Here's some film breakdown:

Oluwafemi Oladejo (Edge)
I double dipped here at Edge because you can never have too many in your rotation to spell the others. This pick is more of a development pick to polish and hopefully see shine over time, but he has a high motor and won't stop until the whistle blows. With the Demarcus Lawrence trade, maybe Oluwafemi can learn some rushing moves to add to his arsenal from one of the best! Like I said, he would be a development player but give him a couple of years and I think he'd show great progress to earn more reps. Here's some film breakdown:

Nazir Stackhouse (NT)
Another addition to the development list, Nazir Stackhouse could use a lot of polishing and refining. He's a big space eater/run stuffer, and it helps that he could have a mentor in Jarran Reed to get better. He's more stocky and powerful as opposed to twitchy and agile, but good value at this pick. Here's some highlights, as I couldn't find any breakdown videos:

Patrick Jenkins (DT)
Lastly I chose Patrick Jenkins here as this was BPA in my opinion. He's a diamond in the rough guy, and he looks promising. He'll need to hit the weight room to get stronger, but he has a high motor to finish the play and a really high ceiling with the right coaching. Here's some highlights:

And that's it folks! In case you didn't notice, I picked guys with high motors, potentially high ceilings, and players with gritty playstyle that will bring the hurt to anyone that squares up to them. It's the Seahawk way, and I feel like this would be a solid draft overall to send us in the right direction. Let me know what you think!
