This isn't a weird pick. We had one decent RB. Well done.
I wish him the best but have a feeling he'll go off the rails and be out of the league in 4 years after 3 teams .Agreed. If everything pans out with their picks, they’re looking rough.
But, I have a feeling Jalen Carter is going to get arrested for drag racing on an ATV in front of a daycare while being completely butt naked.
Charbonnet is a good route runner, great catch radius, and is about as good as I've seen picking up blitzes. I think he'll be the power back and the 3rd down back.Charbonnet was one of my favorite RB prospects this year just like Walker was last year. Complementary players and the injury risk is lower if we spread the carries around and have a deep group.
The value is good at #52. He'll have a $1.28m cap hit which he should easily outplay despite sharing carries.
We do still need a third down back to compete with Dallas, perhaps at #154.
More like a Robert Griffin III Scenario
Next time we play the Broncos, Pete can walk out all of the players that we got via Russ for the coin toss. =-/
At this point I have to think they plan on a couple of former DL returning.
Dear God, no.frank clark rental for a year - anyone?
Exactly, that gets you elected to congress. That no longer gets you arrested.
At the very least city councilExactly, that gets you elected to congress.
After spending the past 20-ish minutes looking at various 2023 NFL Draft RB rankings, most had Charbonnet as the 3rd best RB in the draft, a couple had him as the 2nd best, and I only found 1 that had him as the 4th best. Similarly, the consensus seemed to be that #50 is right about where he would be picked.
They basically all had similar versions of the following,
"Bottom Line: With all due respect to the aforementioned (Bijon) Robinson, after excelling in two vastly different NFL schemes, Charbonnet enters the draft process as arguably the most proven back in the class. Offering a prototypical combination of size, speed and power, Charbonnet is a top-50 candidate and looks like a future NFL workhorse.
Grade: Top 50"

And let's add Kenny McIntosh to that list.Re 3rd down, same can be said for JSN.
Those two picks wreak of Pete's quest to improve converting 3rd downs... both short and long. I love it.
Wow, you know how to call them. Did John or Pete give you a clue? And let's add Kenny McIntosh to that list.
Yeah, they drafted him a couple of minutes before I posted.Wow, you know how to call them. Did John or Pete give you a clue?
