So, as we know the Niners utilize the center's head movements in their silent count process. A tactic perfected by Manning and Saturday of the Colts. Great article on the history of crowd noise, and the development of the silent count. A lot of references to the Seahawks and the 12th man, going back to Patera/Zorn days.

Soon teams throughout the league were imitating the Seahawks. Bill the Beerman went pro. He toured other stadiums, teaching new crowds the finer points of pumping up the volume. And fans loved it.
