I heard approved in 2022, but not in effective for the throwbacks until 2023?

That's ridiculous, this is the NFL they should be able to do anything they want, what's up with making fans and players wait so long for something we all obviously want, and would sell like hotcakes once those jerseys hit the stores.

Enough already with the stupid color rush jerseys.

Its merchandising, need to get manufacturers to create a bunch for the NFL to sell now since they have not been allowed for a while. Then when approved to use in game they can make bank with the helmets and jerseys etc with current and or throw back names on them.

I know supply channels from China are a mess right now, but it's ridiculous that it'd take two full years for the NFL to get their merchandising campaign and supply/manufacturing chain going.

It's too late to have throwback unis for 2022. The deadline for that was a few weeks ago, so 2023 at the earlier for the full retro look. They can change the helmet during the season next year if they want to though. As PFF puts it :

“Moreover, it won’t limit teams from matching existing throwbacks or Color Rush uniforms with different helmets than what they had intended. The Steelers could use a yellow helmet with an alternate look, for example. The Cowboys could adopt a white helmet. The Seahawks could, if they choose to burn even more retinas, introduce a helmet with a color that matches their hideous lime green alternative uniforms.”
