I appreciate the aggressiveness of this team. But....1 out and a sac bunt? Makes no sense. Yes, they scored, but a bunt with one out is strange.

I have been hugely critical of Polanco due to his incredibly poor play on the field the vast majority of the time he's been here. However, credit where credit is due. Polanco has had a great game tonight.
I was about to send you a private message before the game yesterday asking "why all the Jorge hate?" It's a long season, but I hope he keeps it up.

I don't hate Polanco. I just hate how poorly he's played since he's been a Mariner and how year after year the M's keep acquiring these types of players that are older, used to be good, and often times have an extensive history of missing a lot of time due to injuries. Polanco, Garver, Haniger, Wong, Pollack, Frazier, Winker, Upton, etc., and that's just in the past 3 years, and we're probably going to be adding Solano and Tellez to that list in the next few months. The only guys that actually ended up being good acquisitions and productive players for the M's (Teo and Geno) got kicked to the curb. Yeah, they struck out a lot, but they were also the most productive players on the team not named Julio in 2023. It's just gotten really frustrating watching the M's do this same crap every off season for the past several years.

Believe it or not, I used to be one of the most positive and optimistic M's fans on this board. I've had countless arguments here where I was the one defending the team, the GM, the manager, and the players. But I just can't do it anymore. Quite frankly, the "haters" are right. This team doesn't care about winning. They only care about money and profits, and making sure the team is juuust good enough to keep fans interested. I want to believe in this team like I used to, but I just don't anymore. It's a bummer man, (and has admittedly made me pretty bitter and pessimistic regarding the M's in general).

Welp, Polanco just cost us a run with poor defense.

Looking like it's not going to make a difference anyway, however.

Side note: was anyone else saying to themselves "you can't even make this stuff up" when we don't actually touch home plate on a slide? That was ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣
For years the M's have been horrendous on the bases..... Barely get anybody on & constantly get gunned down at the plate.

Unfortunately due to horrendous roster construction, you can't take him out for a defensive upgrade because his average at best bat is needed. And now the route is on.... Castillo games often look like this, all the more reason to have dealt him in the off-season.

Well at least the awful Luis Urias didn't disappoint..... I saw he was up & I said to myself "I hope he goes deep here"..... A couple pitches later, he deposited a bomb in the bullpen. Typical M's.

The M's have had a runner thrown out at home plate in all 3 games so far. The ones last night and today were just egregiously stupid to even try to get home at all.

Ryan Bliss with his speed & aggressive base running, creates pressure on the opposing team. The M's need more guys who can run & swipe bags. Robles & Bliss are key. Good to see Julio aggressive tonight, hopefully he swipes about 40 more. Now if they can just stop getting gunned out at home. On another note: I see the "marine layer" hasn't stopped Sacramento from leaving the yard consistently so far.

3 straight games the Mariners allegedly have the better SP on the mound.... 3 straight games the Sacramento SP has out pitched ours

Julio whiffs on 3 pitches with 2 on & no outs.... 3 straight sliders on the outside corner at the knees. SMH.
