We need to avoid the causation-only argument of Dunlap's signing with the automatic improvement of the defense. His arrival certainly helped the defense, but not at an average rate of 11ppg. Could there be a bit of causation? Sure, but proving it would be difficult.

Is some of it just correlation? It seems so. The defense began to communicate better and play position-clean football, trusting those around them to do their job. This was brought up in several press conferences half-way through the season. That kind of trust takes time, and happened around the same time as Dunlap's arrival.

10-7, competing for a Wild Card spot.

3 losses against divisional rivals.

4 losses against Packers, Saints, Titans and Vikings.

Niners and cards are backwards. We will lose both to the cards and sweep the niners.

CONTENDER!

I am thinking AB, Sherm, Maybe even KJ and add in one of the top Centers at that #2.

Improved OL (Jackson and a full year for Lewis), but would like another center. Pass Rush will be crazy which should alleviate the pressure on our average DBs. So, I see a Loss to Green Bay (since we seem to always travel there early in the season and tend to lose), splits with the Rams and the Cards, and two random losses that we shouldn't have (hopefully those come against AFC teams). So, 13-4, Division Title and a #2 seed into the playoffs.

10-7

Offense will look good for the first half of the season. Defense will look good enough. Carson will get hurt as usual and the run game will struggle. The defense will then be on the field a lot and falter. More snapping the ball with the play clock on 1, more home run balls, more predictable play calling, and more of Pete looking clueless and painful pressers following the games. Hawks back into the playoffs and lose in the first round and fans rejoice because they didnt stink like they did 30 years ago. Waldron will be praised, Pete will walk on holy ground as usual, and Russ trade rumors will dominate the NFL.

Another typical Seahawk season.

Typical.

With Carroll and Wilson, you always have a shot at playoffs but you don’t beat many legit contenders consistently to warrant any serious super bowl contender status unless one side of the ball is considered elite.

Seattle will not possess an elite offense and Seattle will not possess an elite defense so based on Carroll’s recipe, run the ball effectively, play great defense and the force the other team to play your way is not going to work without an elite offense or elite defense.

Wild card contenders yes but their in game adjustments or lack thereof as always held Seattle back especially when they have to play catch up ball in the 4 quarter.

In which making scheme changes or adjustments Carroll hasn’t shown he has the ability to do so early enough in games to where Seattle is still in the game and can win it. It’s always playing catch up or they beat the sub 500 teams by less than 4 points or so.

This style isn’t suitable for winning in playoffs.

10-7 is my call.

Beat the sub 500 teams but will have late game nail biters and lose to the better playoff teams/divisional rivals.
