Now that Jones was cut could Jones be a good fit? We know how PC loves his DB’s and he’s a local product with good skills.

They might like him more than Linden Stephens.

Wonder if they see some Brandon Browner in Rasul Douglas.

Could work:

I'm more interested in Rasul Douglas. I was hoping he'd be picked up by Seattle in the '17 draft.
Not that I'm not interested in Sidney Jones, I think he has talent. I just think Douglas fits the team better.

Both him and Douglas are intriguing. Wouldn't mind bringing either in. Both would be a upgrade over Thorpe, unfortunately not know if they would offer anything to special teams.

Practice squad for Jags. Good for him
A fresh start, and a chance to clear his head.

Almost one year to the day too early.

I still love Cre'Von LeBlanc, but he had a bad year last year. Jones, on the other hand, clawed to the top of the Jaguars roster, and the Jags were running a Carroll scheme. GREAT pickup, and good call

Holton Hill and Rasul Douglas are free agents again. Sorta hoping they bring them both in to give a look-see.

Douglas has similarities to Browner, and maybe he's a late bloomer too...

From Sidney Jones draft profile on NFL/Zeirlein:

By Lance Zierlein NFL Analyst

NFL Comparison Marcus Peters

Overview

Jones is a "casino cornerback" who has the ball skills and instincts to tilt the odds in his favor when quarterbacks look his way.

His toughness and desire to make plays on the ball is remarkably similar to his friend and off-season workout buddy, Marcus Peters.

Jones has lockdown corner talent but will have to prove he can add muscle without sacrificing speed. His football character and play traits should make him a long-time starter with Pro Bowl potential.

Sources Tell Us

"I think he picked up all of (Marcus) Peters' good traits as a player without the personality defects. He marries that great FBI (football intelligence) with an explosive close-out and that will win in the pros just like it wins in college. You will always wish he was 198 pounds, but he won't be." -- NFC East regional scout
