DJ Fluker, thank you for helping bring smash-mouth football back to Seattle!!

Hawk fans, remember we have Jordan Simmons coming back. If he's healthy, he fills the D.J. Fluker role on the OLine actually even better that DJ did, based on our rushing YPG went up with Simmons in the lineup in 2018.

Best of luck big man.

He was a funny guy and seemed like a great locker room character.

Yeah, this saddens me. I love Fluke. Clearly, Pete's comments are confirmed about Lewis - he's being pegged as a right guard, same as his college position.

Fluke could be the first of a few dominoes to fall - Britt, KJ, Willson...

I really hope Britt restructures. I believe cutting him would certainly make this offensive line worse.

Definitely agree, Pocic is too small to play center

I don't necessarily want Pocic, but too small?

Britt 6'6 315
Pocic 6'6 320

I wondered that when I read it too. Thanks for looking it up. Perhaps he is thinking of Hunt? Either way, the center position should be able to be manned by either Pocic or Hunt.

Gonna miss Fluker!

He wasn’t the best lineman but he played with as much effort as anyone.

I hope Fluker can come back at a minimum cost.

Iupati is the one that should be released but Fluker makes more so it’s understandable.

I’m guessing they are really high on these young guys.

Britt gone too. That was pretty much a no brainer.

We’ll see.

I'm a little surprised it happened now, but I appreciate they did it to give him a chance to land somewhere else.

:ditto:

Thank you big guy! Good luck going forward.

or even more likely perhaps, BJ Finney

Was always a big fluke fan, hoping in the draft he would have slipped to us that year but the chargers took him. Hope he does well wherever he goes except the nfc west. Hope this clears up a little room for Clowney to come back.

I'm going to say it wasn't just drafting an OG, LSU's Damien Lewis, that made Fluker expendable, it is a combination of redshirt young guys that the FO believes/hopes at least one of them will be healthy enough to play this coming season.
* Jordan Simmons
* Phil Haynes
* maybe Ethan Pocic, or maybe not
* Please add anybody I missed.
So PC/JS/MS clearly feel the young Guard guys are ready - enough - to roll with, and they're going all-in on them.
In with the Young Guards, out with the old Guard, Fluker.
More of the old Guards... and Centers--to follow?

Fluker has agreed to terms with the Ravens. Good for him, I'm glad he landed with a contender.

Hey Ian, is there such a thing as a two time first round pick?

Didn’t Jordan Simmons do alright when he sub for Fluker? He might be the one if he could stay healthy?

Hey Ian, is there such a thing as a two time first round pick?

Phil Bickford was drafted in the 1st round by the blue jays in 2012 and again by the giants in 2015

Kyler Murray was drafted in the first round by the Oakland A’s and then in the NFL by the cardinals.

So I guess..???

I really love his classy response to the team cutting him..He is completely right, this is a business...If you're good enough, another team will pick you up. If not, then there is the reason why a team cut you.

Seems like the perfect place for Fluker to land. Guess now we have to move Fluker discussion to the NFL forum.

Interesting decision making by the Seahawks. Dropping Fluker but yet re-signing Iupati. Iupati was useless last season. Both Iupati and Fluker got injured but at least Fluker was more productive. I would have rather stuck with Fluker over Iupati.
