Its good for us in almost everyway. R&R for the players.. Extra time for new guys to assimilate.. Extra time for the coaching staff to look at what we did and didn't do...and what they changed defensively and how to tweak that to keep it going....and maybe even travel a day earlier to Philly to help in any time adjustments...

Perfect timing. Lockett gets an extra week of healing and evaluation. Pete/Saleh have time to round out the pass rush that has come alive, and hopefully scheme in an alternative punt returner.

I'd say physically, it's a great thing, but this is the first game the defense wasn't wishy-washy. It'll be hard to keep that momentum. what is their record coming off a bye week?

I agree with the consensus, the bye is perfectly timed for a lot of reasons:

Our top receiver just got through spending 2 nights in a hospital.

If we played this weekend, we'd be playing on a short week.

Our next game involves an east coast road trip and an early start.

We have a couple of new acquisitions, specifically Gordon and Diggs. The extra week of practice will help them get more acclimated to their roles with their new team.

It's late in the season, and gives the players a bit of a break before we head down the stretch.

It really does come at a great time. Hard hitting game on Monday night, and a road game in Philly that got bumped to 10am. 13 days between games, plus with Lockett hurting, this will help immensely.
