Wilson is better than last year and SP know how to play to the strengths of all the different QBs he has coached over the years. But the problem is that Wilson isn't being paid to be a game manager. RW looked more than a game manager at the middle portion of the season as he looked like he was back to an All Pro level. Right now SP expects Wilson to elevate his team a bit to push through wins during this time of the year.

If I was to speculate SP wants to build a balanced roster but is hampered by the salary cap realities of the RW contract. I do not honestly think SP expects RW to carry the team long term. This is because Brees tried to do that for the Saints for years and failed. That is what forced SP and GM Loomis to rebalance the Saints roster and cap to add more defensive players and fortify the OL.
