Day 5.

First day of pads. Defense took it to the offense. 1st, 2nd and 3rd team offense all struggled to score a single point.

Well, until our lord and savior Jake Bobo had a say.

Apparently one of the final plays Bobo caught what many are saying is one of the best catches seen. Even Lockett said it was one of the top 5 best catches he’s ever seen in his near 10 year career.

You can find it on Seahawks channel or site. Personally I don’t see what the fuss is about but I did hear it was much more impressive in person.

I am interested to hear if it’s a good back and forth now that pads are on. I don’t want one side to dominate. I want to hear both sides make great strides. Iron sharpens iron and all that.

Grubb has work to do but that is expected.

But the defense is actually buying into Mac's D and that is a good sign.

That’s all good, but how is our long snapper looking?

Which makes me hard to believe with rumors of what I'm hearing that he's on the "bubble".

If he gets let go, i'll wear a black arm band for him right along with my Amber Lancaster arm band.

Good that we're getting reports of defensive success. Everything up to this point has indicated that the offense was having their way with 'em.

Defenses usually get up to speed faster than offense, so on the surface this isn't incredibly surprising. What I will say is that it's good to hear the D is picking up Big Mac's program quickly in light of how complex I understand it is. I'm looking forward to real games, but our defensive play against the 49ers and the Rams is highlighted on my schedule. Oh, how McVay and Shanahan have toyed with us, like a cat keeping a mouse alive, for years now has gotten beyond old to me.

Love hearing this! I believe we can be a top 10 offense. The weapons are there. I think this is the year Geno cracks the ‘top 5’ QB wise.

For our defense to look as good (as it sounds) this early….wowzers!

Beyond excited!!

I think it is also common that the O starts off well early, before the pads go on. Easier to execute when you know you're not gonna get hit. ;)

I want the defense ahead, shows the concepts are sound and scheme works, Offense has to learn a lot more about syncing up and timing and reads. If a brand new offense was schooling the defense I would be worried. A few more contact practices where receiver get used to being challenged and shake the rust off their releases we should see improvement, also O line actually having full contact and having to get their timing and queues down will take a bit as well since they are almost a new unit.

I'm not too concerned about our defense dominating our offense. Last I checked our defense isn't on our schedule this season.
It is known.

My concern level depends on why one side is dominating. If the Defense is just that good, great. If it's guys making plays, also great. However, if it's like last season when our O-line was a turnstile, and the offense never had time to utilize their strengths, then this is probably not great news.

Yeah, never sure how to take training camp news. Historically, it rarely shines light on the season to come. Defenses tend to have the upper hand on offenses once pads are on. Nothing shocking there. Happens around the league in July/August.
