The defensive scheme is going to continue to be the Achilles heal unfortunately.

Geno and the O played a near flawless game, and they barely won.

This is what we've been seeing around here for awhile. The QB has to play out of his mind to barely win a game. On normal teams, that should equate to a blowout, or a game that the team remains in command of at the very least. Not skin of your teeth barely win, which should be rare cool thing.

Also what happens when the QB doesn't have an amazing game, and just plays okay? What happens then?

They have too much talent on defense to be this bad. They are not scheming to their personel on that side of the ball enough.

Briefly, in the 2nd half they finally started showing pressure based looks, and brought some pressure too. With a nice stunt, a Nickel Blitz sack, and a pick 6.

They sped up Goff's clock, and good things happened. We must all pray, they recognize this and lean into it more.
As that is how they are built to play.

Not shell coverage which is what they are mostly in.

On the flipside I was thoroughly impressed with the Seahawks offensive staff with the plan they put together to mitigate not having both starting OTs in this game, and then the Center went out.

Going into it, I was just hoping for functional. Instead they dominated, moving the ball up and down the field all game long. Geno had 2 bad plays. 2, that is it.

He was under pressure quite a bit, but the ball was getting out quick, and pretty much everyone on that side of the ball looked good, and was being utilized how you'd like.

They still need to get the TEs involved more in the red zone, and I'd love to see them move DK around more, motion him.

But all 'n all the offense is freaking great!

we didn’t have half our defense week 1. Got into a mini shootout with a damn good Lions team as well. It is what it is. There’s 13 more games bro

CBS doesn't agree with you Fade.

Seattle 24-3 over N.Y. Giants (Monday)
A-
Seahawks
This game was a defensive masterpiece by Seattle. The Seahawks set the defensive tone early by making a fourth-down stop on New York's first possession, and then things only got better for them from there. The unit forced a fumble in the first half that set up a seven-yard TD drive, and then Devon Witherspoon followed that up in the second half with a 97-yard pick six. And if that's not enough, the Seahawks also sacked Daniel Jones 11 times with two of those coming from Witherspoon. The Seahawks actually had four different players with at least two sacks, which is the first time in franchise history that's ever happened. The Seahawks defense seems to be getting better every week, and if it keeps playing like this, there's no reason this team won't be battling for a wild-card spot in January.

Maybe Fade you should have waited a bit rather than basing your learned decisions on last year and 1 game.

Will they shit the bed in some coming game? Sure it could happen but this D, (barring the current injury bug) could be top 5 / 10.

You can't be down on that given the way they have turned over the roster.

Heck if they play like that there is no reason they shouldn't win the SB. I don't think they are going to be that dominate vs SF but man that was a nice game for the D.

They were missing some guys on defense this week, still. Sky's the limit for this young and hungry defense.

Beat me to it. The OP's predictions and evaluations are about as reliable as the rhythm method.

What's that thing, you know, about hubris?
