Some of our arrogant, or disgruntled in your face spokesmen ( Sherman, Lynch, Thomas, Bennett etc) flew the coupe (Seattle), taking with them, the reason that we were ever even on the map.
Besides that, we are no longer springing surprises on the rest of the League, we merely GRIND out unflashy wins.
The League's media is ALWAYS looking for the next new shiny bling bling to write about.
40 years plus now and people still don't get this narrative, we are in Egypt or North Alaska to most the media and vote casters. Unless we shake the earth nobody really remembers we are even here.
There's more to it than that . I think it goes back to our AFC West days when we were getting beat up on by Denver and the Raiders. Yes we had some good teams during that time but Elway was the division as far as the media were concerned . They didn't respect us back then and some of that is still there.
Winning the Super Bowl against Denver was epic and Seattle made a lot of people look stupid. Ego's got bruised they don't like us so be it.
