There's still a month until the start of the season but the Hawks have had a rough go of it so far in the back end.

- Jamal Adams, broken finger
- Ryan Neal, high ankle sprain ~6 weeks?
- Tre Brown, still on PUP with slow recovery from knee surgery
- Sidney Jones, concussion protocol
- Artie Burns, groin injury suffered today, unknown severity

At this rate it's outstanding that we drafted a couple of rookie CBs who are shining because they both may be starting on Saturday.

That might be a blessing in disguise though. It might work in our favor, right?
Yup. In the playoffs and SB, we've lost 2 SBs because of inadequate DB depth. Developing quality depth now leads to SB later.

SB Losses from tissue-paper-thin DB depth:

SBXL - Ken Hamlin out from stupid bar fight, Marquand Manuel pulls a hammie in 2nd qtr, we put in street free agent Etric Pruitt, Stealers notice and take advantage, Willie Parker 75yd TD run, Randle-El TD to Pruitt's man on trick play

SBXLIX - Pete inexplicably makes injured Tharald "toast" Simon active, Marcus Burley a healthy scratch, then Jeremy Lane gets ruptured ACL and arm broken in half on INT return. Brady and Edelman/Amendola just USE Simon, who can't cover them, AT ALL.
