It made sense to put Jones against Donald. Brilliant i fact.

Donald is a technician. Jones can match that. Fluker is a brute.

Come to think of it, Hunt's performance isn't far off from our starting center, and Jamarco and Fant could probably replace Ifedi. We may see some movement in OL roster next season.

I think that could be quite the understatement.

Mike Iupati, Joey Hunt, Germaine Ifedi and George Fant will all be unrestricted free agents.

Duane Brown will have a $12.5m cap hit with no guaranteed money left - and turn 35 before the season begins. Few pro bowl LTs play past age 34.

Justin Britt will have an $11.6m cap hit with no guaranteed money left.

DJ Fluker will have a $3.5m cap hit with no guaranteed money left.

Our best value assets under contract could well be Pocic $1.4m, Haynes $0.75m, and Jones $0.7m.

I think there's a real possibility that the Seahawks might be better with Jones and Pocic at G.

Iupati has been really quite bad.

As an added note, other people watched his performance also, if we put him back on the market thru a cut and then try and resign he is as good as gone to Arizona or another team wanting pass blocking and ability to play tackle.

Interestingly, we might have this line up

Brown - Fant
Simmons - Pocic
Hunt - Pocic
Fluker - Pocic
Jamarco - Fant

I'll bet at least one of the other 31 NFL teams is going to throw starter money at George Fant out of desperation.

You'd have to be very desperate to throw starter money at a Seahawks Backup tackle. Now someone will likely be stupid enough to do that for Ifedi, whose only strength so far has been availability.

I think we will re-sign Fant and Hunt next year. I think the OL looks like this: Brown, Pocic, Britt, Haynes, Jones next year.

That is flat ridiculous that he more than held his own v Donald playing a position he's never played in a game, on the other side of the line. Hell, his pass pro may have been the difference between the Donald show early and Wilson having time later on.

What's the case for even putting Fluker back in? I mean it's one performance, but my vote is we see if he can replicate it before we pull that man off the field. It's not like he was crappy at run blocking either. The way he used his long arms was just exquisite, as was his footwork, I can see why he played tackle in college.

I think this is Fluker's last year on contract. If we can get him on the cheap, he might be a back-up behind Jones.

Fluker signed a two year deal this last offseason. Don't think he's going anywhere real soon.

Going forward it may just be that the Hawks have a solution for slowing Donald down, play a T opposite him to even the quickness differential.

Interestingly, our Jamarco was the slowest offensive linemen at the combine, Donald was one of the quickest defensive linemen at his combine. Jamarco is really an intriguing case, he had success at college level, but was surprisingly slow at his combine, causing his stock to drop at draft.

I am really in on Jamarco and Simmons, a 'slow' dude and an 'injury prone' dude. If Jarmarco wasn't hurt last season, he could be our starting RT right now. He is the antithesis of a Cable lineman.

I like to see Jamarco - ??? - Pocic - Simmons - Fant in couple of years.

Why not Jones at RG and Fluker at RT? Wasn’t Fluker a decent RT with the Chargers?

With Pete’s mantra of Always Compete, along with the annual overall ineffectiveness of the offensive line, it absolutely floors me that Jones wasn’t in the lineup to begin with.

I don’t care where he plays, but from now on, he needs to be out there.

Agreed.

But Pete had Poona Ford on the bench or inactive most weeks last year, so I am not surprised at this point.

He better stay in the lineup is all that matters, wherever he plays, I don't care. He was their best O-Lineman on TNF.

Fluker can't move. He is a specialist at this point. He needs to be matched up with other slow, fatmen, or he is going to play horrible.

Going off memory here, but slow as in running isn't the same as quickness and good feet and hands, as a O lineman that will get you a long ways and I remember them saying that Jones as very technically sound and had great hands.

If Britt is retained, they better slash his salary. I would be just fine with Pocic & Hunt. If Pocic's neck is really bad, I could see Pete drafting a Center in the 2nd round looking for an Unger type.

Right now I got: LT Brown -- LG Haynes -- C Pocic -- RG Jones -- RT Fant

Pocic was supposed to be technically sound too, and he did better at this combine. But in real games, Jamarco just so much better than Pocic. I think you are right, Jamarco has some quickness that is not measurable in combine situations.

Some good draft info on Jamarco. Per most "draft analysts" he was mediocre, with a poor combine.

Jones started the final 27 games of his career as a Buckeye at left tackle, taking over where Decker left off when he became a first-round pick. In 2016, he was Second-team All-Big Ten, and this past season, he was rewarded with First-team All-Big Ten honors.

There were some who believed he was snubbed a chance to compete in the Senior Bowl, and some who pegged him as a a top-64 player in this class.

Personally, I watched very few Ohio State games this season and when I did, I focused on center Billy Price more than anything. But the hype was getting too noticeable for me to ignore, so I sat down and watched his film.

And the confusion set in.
