So three guys have gotten noticed in rookie minicamp at Nose are Cameron Young, Robert Cooper, and Jonah Tavai.
Young played in the SEC and there's a separate thread on him, so I'll skip him.
Cooper played at FSU and looks more like the big, fat guy NT that some people on here are obsessed with.
Tavai played at SDSU and is listed at 5'10", 283#. Corbin Smith didn't really know what to make of him until he saw how fast his hands were. I don't know what to make of him either after watching some of his highlights. Maybe because he's short short he just gets under blocks and forklifts people? Idk, but I kinda want to rewatch this with the sound off and the Benny Hill theme playing.
Starting at 1:40, he first sacks the QB and Tackle -- together. Ok. And then the next play he matadors the Guard, DESTROYS the upback, and sacks the QB for a safety. The third play he dances out of the grasp of the center, does a 360 around the guard, then runs the arc for the sack. I don't understand. They are playing Div I schools, right? It's like watching Barry Sanders weaving in and out of traffic and nobody seems to be able to lay a hand on him.
Anyway, I don't know if his game translates to the NFL. But he definitely fits Pete's "unique qualities" criteria. Enjoy.
